We spent 4 days here over the 2011/12 New Year. We went for the birds and the wildlife photography but hit a rainy period with rain every day and one day very wet. The cabanas were lovely, nicely designed and the beds firm and comfortable and the food really excellent. We also enjoyed the company of the other guests who... More

We stayed 4 days at the Lamanai Outpost Lodge over New Years 2011. The lodge is located next to a lagoon, near lamanai ruins and partly in the jungle. We stayed in sea view cabines, however from inside the cabine, you do not have a sea view really, therefore not really worth extra money. Cabines are rustic, with dark wood,... More

My husband and I spent 4 days at Lananai Outpost Lodge on our honeymoon. The first of 3 places we visited, the lodge was an amazing start to a fantastic trip. The service, accommodation and tours were first class. The home cooked 3 course breakfasts, lunches and dinners served by the lodge were fantastic and sustained us through the busy... More

We are experienced travellers having stayed in many safari and rainforest lodges. Lamanai is quite simple but it was perfect for our needs. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and even our complicated dietary requirements were no problem for them. My lodge had aircon and a fan but my children's lodge only had a fan. I have been... More

From the arrival to the departure, everything was awesome! The food was incredible at every meal, the staff were all knowledgeable and accommodating, the adventures were fun, challenging, but completely doable! We are well traveled and this experience was the best! More

We spent two nights at the lodge in early December 2011. The rooms were simple and a little dusty/musty, but had all the necessities: comfy beds, decent shower, in-room fridge (great for keeping cold drinks/beer from town). We did not get a river view, but I hear that's something to strive for. Anyone seeking privacy would be wise to state... More

I'm a huge fan of this lodge. Its walking distance to lamani ruins and is right along the river. The ruins were great and we saw plenty of Iguanas, Howler monkeys, and lots and lots of birds. Face temple was really nice and high temple was a little scarry going up well worth it when you made it to the... More

I led two groups of bird watchers through Belize for a week each. Both groups began their stay at Lamanai Outpost Lodge. The cottages and entire site is rustic but clean and accommodating. The staff could not have been more attentive. One traveler had severe dietary restrictions and the kitchen staff handled it beautifully. We enjoyed bird watching excursions morning,... More

This was my second trip to Belize(main reason to was dive on a liveaboard) but wanted to spend time in the jungle as we had done in the past(Chan Chich and Cha Creek) and decided to try a new lodge. So glad we picked Lamanai. The units are scattered about the property, all have porches/decks, many are river front. The... More

pick this place out of the other eco lodges = worth every penny. picked up at the marine terminal in an airconditioned bus. got on a uber comfortable power boat and the views on the river are incomparable - seems that sky touches the river, heading out into an expanse, a great adventure - so calming yet so exciting. welcomed...
