This is a great place, very welcoming hosts, yummy food, beautiful and peaceful river setting where you can spot lots of wildlife crocodiles, manatees, iguanas, and lots of varieties of birds. You can arrange a boat tour to Lamanai directly from there. The cabins are simple belizian style, very clean and comfortable. The price is fair can def. recommend this place for a few nights.

We have now stayed here twice...once two years ago and again last week. We can't speak to the rooms as we camped out front both times, but the family that runs the place is extremely pleasant, there's a great view of the river (only feet away) and our dinner was absolutely brilliant!

We went September 2009 for the Independence Day celebrations (23rd). Walked into the room (3) and my first thought was 'OMD!! It's just like a bordello, satiny, garish . . . . ' However, next morning, I felt totally differently. What lovely people own the place and everyone is soooo laid back. We were asked what we'd like for breakfast... More

Simple guest rooms with moskito netting, A/C and private bath, friendly management. I arrived very early in the morning by Bus and was able to check in without paying extra. You can get picked up by a boat for the river tour to Lamanai. There is a bar on premise that can get some guests but it wasn't too noisy

Lamanai Riverside Retreat is a nice neatly keep place to camp ($15us) or rent a room by the river that is close to banks and shopping. There is electricity and Wi-Fi at the river. Bathrooms and showers are around back of the restaurant. Nice place but too expensive for my budget, so I only stayed one night. But I do... More

This is good choice if you want to spend a night in Orange Walk. Restaurant and rooms are located just on the river bank. Owener was very helpful and arranged for us boat trip to Lamanai. Room was average

I had booked one night in this place one month before my trip. At the last minute I decided to add another night so I sent them an email to see if they had the space to extend my stay by one night. Instead, they wrote back to say that they were closed. Some flooding apparently. Ok, I can understand... More

Staff were nice enough, food was not that good, room desperately need to be refurbished! In the shower we were getting electric shocks as the shower head is attached to a wall plug that gets wet!! We had a cockroach in the room, was not really comfortable here, but if you want cheap, there it is!

I enjoyed my stay here. The food was delicious, the family kind and helpful, and the other people I met who were staying here added to my experience. The bathroom was dated, but functional. I was just looking for a comfortable, bug-less bed. I was a female traveling alone. I enjoyed the jungle tour and the delicious stewed chicken that... More

We dined here at the recommendation of our guide to Lamanai. We had the option of dining indoors or outside... if you are WITHOUT bug spray I would definitely recommend sitting indoors. There was a happy hour drink menu, but the restaurant was out of a lot of liquers so there really wasn't much of a selection. My pork that... More
