They are what you would expect. Super close to the beach, basic, but that's all you paid for right. Friendly staff straightens the room and changes sheets daily. When we were there the sea grass was really bad and stinks, you wouldn't swim through it to get to the nicer water! Totally not the fault of anyone. The great thing... More

The cabanas are situated at the end of the peninsula, so it's an extremely quiet place in respect to human crowds. It's not quiet at all because of the ocean waves that lull you to sleep. The cabanas are very simple but they have everything you need at the beach - running water, working toilet, refrigerator, hamac, huge veranda, table,... More

Placencia is a pretty typical touristy beach town, but Tradewinds is a good spot within it. Can't beat staying literally on the sandy beach and listening to the waves crash around you all night. Excellent price for the location, and the room was clean and well maintained. Loved the hammock and meeting the neighbour cabana stayers. Janice, the owner, is... More

It's a small little box on the beach. ON the beach. If you've read the other reviews then you get that by now. There's coconut trees everywhere. Step one: go to the store and get a machete Step two: get a bottle of rum (Get the traveller's 5 Barrel, the 3 Barrel will also suffice) Step three: make some friends,... More

The price was reasonable and it was nice to have a cabin directly on the beach. Like others have said, If you want to be on the beach without other cabins blocking your view ask for a ‘standard’ cabins. They are about 30 steps from the water. The beach out front was littered with disgusting trash & seaweed and never... More

We stayed in the Tradewinds cabanas for 2 nights and enjoyed it so much. It is basic but clean and had everything we needed for our outing. Stove, refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave, plus the basic pots, pans, dishes and utensils. It is easily walking distance to shops and restaurants. It was a girls outing and we had a great... Spent 2 nights on the beach after coming off of a sailing tour. Clean, cozy and very quaint at a decent price. Listening to the ocean in the evening or laying in the most comfortable I've been in in awhile it truly is a nice place to stay. Thanks Janice :)

I have stayed at this place more than once and it keeps being my favourite place. Whether you travel with family or friends, it is peaceful, clean and private. With the Caribbean Sea just outside the window, you feel like you are in paradise.

We stayed at Tradewinds for 4 days at the start of May and for two of those days did not see another person including the owner who was away which was Ok with us but may be weird for others as it can feel a bit isolated at this end of the strip. Contrary to other reviews our cabana was... More

Great, quiet stretch of beach at the southern tip of the Placencia Peninsula. Far enough away from the bars and nightlife that can stretch to 4am, but an easy 5-8 min walk to those bars. Individual cabanas, all with a beach view but some are set back in between the front line on the beach. Hot water for showers, ceiling... More
