I spent 5 nights at the Ranguana Lodge in Placencia, Belize about a week ago and fell in love with the place, and Placencia itself. The grounds are incredibly lush with flowers, clean and well-kept. I came to Placencia specifically for the whale shark diving (definitely dive with Avadon Divers - they're the BEST shop in town, and will take... more

We stayed in a beach front cabin at Ranguana Lodge after a 7 day bareboat charter. It was a beautiful location, very comfortable and convenient to the Placencia sidewalk and nearby shops and restaurants. There is a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot in the room. It is air conditioned and also receives a wonderful breeze. The staff is very friendly... more

We must say that this little quaint place has a lot of charm. We stayed in the "Parrot Fish" cabin right on the beach..... I mean literally feet away from the water!! Rita and Joy who run Ranguana lodge were most helpful.. Right from the time we booked our trip on line with them and then while we were in... more

Ranguana Lodge was everything you could possibly want for the excellent price. The cabins are right on the beach -- you fall asleep to the soothing sound of crashing waves. The rooms are immaculately clean and functional -- comfortable (yet small) beds, hot showers, television, windows, etc. The location in the village is perfect -- right on the famous sidewalk,... more

I had the pleasure of visiting Placencia and Ranguana Lodge the first 2 weeks of Sept. 2008. What a wonderful village, people and accomodations. The lodge staff was friendly, professional and saw to my every need. Rooms were clean, fresh and comfortable. The view from the front porch of palms and blue Carribean were priceless. The grounds were full of... more

My husband and I booked two cabins at the Ranguana for family and friends. We stayed at a much more expensive resort in Placencia (5x the $$) and wish that we had decided to stay at the Ranguana as well. The location is wonderful; right in the middle of town and within walking distance to everything. But the nearest bar... more

We just returned from 2 nights at the Ranguana Lodge. Nice place clean with helpful staff. Sunday night was loud as the band from The Barefoot Bar next door blasted away. They do not have live music every night. Check before you book. We did not get a cabin facing the ocean they charge more for those. No AC but... more

We stayed at Ranguana for 5 nights in April. We were in the Trigger Fish cabin and friends of ours stayed in Angle Fish. The cabins are rustic, however, they do have air conditioning, a TV, microwave, refrigerator and coffee pot and are kept very clean. The cabins are steps away from the beach, water and town. We stayed 2... more

My boyfriend and I booked 3 nights at Ranguana Lodge after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and looking at their website. We're so glad we did; it was cute, clean, inexpensive, and right on the beach. Definitely the best value in Placencia. more

This is the perfect small hotel to stay in: nothing fancy except for the beach outside your door. All the staff was friendly and very helpful -- last minute requests are cheerfully accommodated and recommendations easily given. The cabins were spartan, but very quiet, very comfortable and very clean. The beach was typical for the area -- some seaweed, but... more
