We went to The Placencia Hotel & Residences in April as part of a group. The resort is beautiful - wonderfully manicured gardens, great large pool, lovely pier bar/restaurant, clean private beach and great rooms. This hotel is part of a larger development of large homes being built on the lagoon across the main road from the hotel and next... more

My wife and I stayed at the Placencia for 9 nights. The resort itself is beautiful and the staff itself was very nice and helpful overall. The pool was quite amazing and the beach was beautiful. Be warned though that there is seagrass in Placencia and it takes about 50 feet of walking through small reeds before you are in... more

Wow, what a great resort to get away from it all. Very relaxing and the staff could not have been any more accommodating. It was pleasant surprise from all those growded all inclusive resorts. The newly redone infinity pool was beautiful, and you didn't have to wait for a swim-up bar stool to come free. An example of how accommodating... more

IUnless you seek a deathly boring retirement community type experience in beautiful surroundings but with bad service and a ripoff attitude avoid this place at all costs. The resort is very attractive and well manicured but everything else is a disaster. There's no activities, very few people, a waterfront instead of a swimmable beach and booking excursions through the hotel... more

We stayed at the Placencia Hotel 4 for nights over the christmas holiday. I was traveling with 2 other families, our family consisting of myself and my wife and 4 kids ranging from 21 to 11. I must admitt the the hotel itself, especially the pool was very nice, but nowhere near worth what we spent. We were put up... more

The Placencia Resort was a great experience. I just got back from a 5 nights stay last night (12/28/2008). The property is located about 40 minutes from the town of Placencia. The resort provides a free shuttle that runs every couple hours to and from the town. The town is a very unique place. There is only one main road... more

Though The Placencia Hotel is beautiful, the service is atrocious. The concierge responsible for planning day trips has absolutely no idea what she's doing. We booked the same trip 3 times before the concierge remembered it. Then, the morning of our snorkeling excursion they told us we couldn't go because the trip was full. When we protested, they found room... more

This place was great ! We were at "The Inn at Roberts Grove" at 9:30 at night and very disguisted, we called "The Placenicia Hotel" to switch hotels, and they sent someone right over to pick us up, from then on it was so nice. The grounds looks like something out of a magazine, you just want believe it. The... more

Typically I go to the carib for fun and sun - not the food. However, this trip was a pleasant surprise one meal was better than the next - I had delicous capucino for breakfast - pizza for lunch and great Thai food for dinner; in addition we went to two other local restaurants where the food was equally good.... more

This hotel is variously described as a three to five star category. Three and a half is most accurate. The room was clean and comfortable, but our Queen Suite had only a rather small bedroom with separate bathroom. It was only marginally larger than the Junior Suite. In most of the ordinary hotels with which I am familiar (Day's Inn,... more
