Whenever I need a break and I find the time I go to Placencia. Since I don't like the hustle and bustle I prefer to stay at Maya Beach. It is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful Carribean Sea. The rooms are big, very clean and well equipped. The beach in front of the hotel is small... More

We have been here twice. The first time we stayed around placencia the second we became more adventerous. The food is amazing! We had to force ourselves to leave the bistro (hotel reataurant) and try the local food, it is THAT good. We were happy to see the sane friendly staff on our 2nd visit as our first. This is... More

We stayed in the upper Dreamsicle house for a week. This is a great house to rent if you are wanting a little extra privacy and space as compared to staying in a hotel. The staff was great, the property was well kept, and the Bistro had amazing food.

The highlight is certainly the food. The menu is inspired and everything we ate was delicious. We stayed in the Jaguar room. It was simple and cozy. Great view of the beach while laying in bed. The owners (Ellen & John) were very nice and clearly know how to run a hotel and restaurant. The property is peaceful and laid... More

The food is the real reason to visit Maya Beach - the Bistro is just incredible. The location and beautiful beaches help too. :) We got a great last minute deal and had a full floor of a house to ourselves (Joya Mar Main). It's definitely minimalist - older furnishings/kitchen/bathroom, and the power went out for a few hours in... More

My wife and I spent four nights at Maya Beach Hotel, in one of their new beach bungalows the "Kingfish" suite. There are two new identical bungalows right next to each other - Kingfish and King Conch - both built in September 2013. These are beautifully appointed, with comfortable king size bed, ceiling fans, small but very serviceable kitchenette and... More

My mom and I stayed here for 3 nights in June 2014. The stay was flawless from start to finish. We were in the King Conch Suite, which would rival any American hotel in comfort and style, but thankfully lacks a tv to distract you from the beautiful view directly out the front porch. While the beaches in Placencia can... More

We arrived at mid-day and were greeted by Ellen who was very friendly and helped us with several things. We waited on the bistro deck while our room was prepared and it was so nice to watch the ocean and feel the wind in our hair! The Hummingbird room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed, including a big... More

The Maya Beach Hotel is a little slice of heaven. The palapa is just a perfect place to hang and enjoy alone or with friends, the whit sandy beach is perfect, and the rooms are all nicely kept, clean and, well, they make you feel comfortable and at home. Kayaks are available to guests as well. The best part is... More

After spending a few days up in the mountains near San Ignacio Belize, my partner and I decided to spend some of our stay traveling the country of Belize with the serendipitous strategy of "No Reservations." Traveling this way can really open your travel adventures to amazing experiences, and one of the highlights of this "live the mystery, come what... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sitting on a pretty stretch of natural sand beach, the Maya Beach Hotel is a small mid-range property for couples who needs comfort, but not luxury. Our five rooms are air conditioned with queen beds and nice beach views, and we also offer some beach house rentals in different price ranges. Our Bistro and swimming pool are a gathering place at the end of a day filled with snorkeling, diving, fishing, kayaking, jungle hiking, spelunking, climbing Maya ruins, or just plain relaxing on the beach. The Bistro was also recently awarded "Restaurant of the Year" by the Belize Tourism Board. ... more   less
