This resort is truly beautiful. I can give it that. However, everything else about the experience was pretty miserable. There are hundreds of thousands of mosquitos and bugs. After my 5 day honeymoon here I looked like a monster covered in welts. The food is ATROCIOUS and extraordinarily expensive... and being that the "town" of palencia is a third world... more

The architecture is spectacular and every compliment it has received above is accurate. But that is where it stops. My complaints: 1. There's no beach ... just a very thin strip of brown sand maybe 10 feet wide at the widest. 2. The food is excruciatingly expensive and unbelievably mediocre. 3. The service staff is as friendly as can be... more

We stayed two nights at Turtle Inn during a week long romantic getaway in Belize. (See reviews of Ka'ana Boutique Resort in San Ignacio if interested in a romantic jungle accommodation). The casitas at Turtle Inn are absolutely gorgeous. Loved the decor, and the indoor and outdoor showers were amazing. Large, spacious rooms with a nice porch, and if you... more

After happening upon the turtle inn in a few web searches for honeymoon locations, I was intrigued by the reviews.. There were so many who loved their experiences but then their where the few who hated their experience... this weighed heavily on my mind as I booked the trip. I had initially booked the "package" but after some thought and... more

I am a travel consultant for The Travel Center at Steamboat and I have the opportunity to get great deals on travel...but I chose to pay a higher price for our honeymoon in Belize to stay at the Turtle Inn. And I am so happy I did! We loved this resort! We flew into Placenia on Tropic Air from Belize,... more

The cabanas are amazing! They are beautiful, spacious, very classy and have lots of taste. It's a hard thing to describe in a review so just look at everyone's pictures and understand that it's better than that! The staff is very friendly and I can see where other reviewers are coming from when they saw they could be overfriendly to... more

My husband and I did the honeymoon package which included a stay at both Blancaneaux Lodge and the Turtle Inn. We had a great time, but I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that it was our honeymoon. The Great Stuff: The service/staff were incredibly friendly. In fact, so friendly, that at times they bordered... more

This trip had one purpose to show my wife that Central America and the Carribean was not all it was cracked up to be....BOY WAS I WRONG!!! (Keep in mind, I don't like roughing it!) Got off to a horrible start (just as planned) by landing in Belize City, where my wife lost her luggage (American Airlines/MIA airport, its almost... more

We were very nervous about going to the Turtle Inn after reading a horrible review on this website. We were so happy to find out the review was completely wrong. I think the person must have been crazy. The Turtle Inn is a beautiful and relaxing resort. We stayed in a beachfront cabin , which was literally steps to the... more

We had an amazing time at this hotel. The rooms were big, the bathroom was so luxurious, and the grounds were beautiful. We stayed in a garden side cabana that was right by the triangle pool, not the main circular one. It was a great situation because we basically got the pool to ourselves, or there was one to two... more
