We started a 3 1/2 week vacation in Belize with one week at Isla Marisol. We stayed in Cabana 3, about 20 feet from waters edge, away from the bar and restaurant but an easy walk to everything. The room was just fine, would have preferred one large bed rather two doubles but that is a quibble. The ceiling fan... more

This place is amazing, I spent a year living in Belize and I still wonder this is "the place to be" in all the country, it has an exceptional view of the Caribbean and the hotel can’t be better! It’s totally gorgeous! more

I meant to send a review after staying here in May but have only just got round to it. We timed our trip to see whale sharks coming up through the region, Isla Marisol is well experienced and well geared up to do this and we did see 4 whale sharks whilst we were there. The whale shark diving is... more

This resort with its amazing scenery and some of the best diving in the Caribbean had the potential to be my favorite diving place of all time. Unfortunately, a few hassles and disappointments, mostly service related, resulted in my less-than-perfect opinion. I feel like we were cheated on our experience. Based on reviews we had read before and have read... more

For an isolated island resort, I think they do OK. There are problems which Eddie (the owner) does need to address. These include power outages and lack of attention to critical supplies like drinking water which we ran out of. I don't understand why they don't simply filter their desalinized water. It was perfectly drinkable tho filtering would be a... more

We took our shoes off on Saturday and put them on the next Saturday, other then the FLYING JAWS (no seeums/sand flea s,(a tip for future guests, Clear Preperation H works extremely well in stopping the itch and reducing the swelling, Denny will attest to that) (not enough ice for drinks) Isla Marisol will be remembered as one of our... more

Date: March 10-17, 2007 My husband and I spent a week at Isla Marisol, with our three children, 11, 14 and 18 years old. I would encourage bringing any kids older than 10. We had gorgeous scenery, a relaxed pace, great service and accommodations and delicious food all located on a remote island. We experienced our dream vacation. Our cooks,... more

My wife and I spent last week at Isla Marisol on Glover's Atoll. We had a glorious time. We are mostly fly fisherman and snorklers. Both were excellent at Isla Marisol. I was actually able to cast to cruising bonefish from the deck of our cabana. The food was great and different at every meal. The daily raking of the... more

My wife and I just returned from Isla Marisol in Belize. The resort is located on Southwest Caye in Glover's Reef. Glover's Reef is a coral atoll (one of four in the western hemisphere) located about 38 miles offshore east of Dangriga. The resort is run by a wonderful young man, Eddie Usher, whose family has owned the 18 acre... more

We recently visited Isla Marisol, and found it to be everything as advertised. I just couldn't get over how beautiful, private, and quiet the island is. As they say in real estate, it really is all about location, location, location. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing! From the moment Eddie's smile greeted us in Dangriga it was obvious that service... more
