I have read a few of the reviews and agree. The pelican reef resort is really nice. My husband and I went to the sister location in Dangriga, belize and we had a really nice time. we were staying with a friend, but would come to the restaurant for happy hour (drinks and appetizers)We had to say that is was... My sister and I had the pleasure to experience this idyllic resort for 5 days on a beautiful island called South Water Cay about 45 minutes away from the mainland by boat. The resort is situated on the barrier reef and the diving and snorkeling opportunities are bountiful. The accommodations are individual small private lodgings and very clean. This resort... More

We stayed here 1 night after spending 3 nights at the sister resort on South Water Caye. It was very convenient as a hop off either the night before or after staying on the Caye and seems to be the best option actually in Dangriga. Service was very good, restaurant has good selection of foods for all meals, drinks were... More

We just returned from Pelican Beach Island Resort. We were there at the same time as the group of students who submitted their comments in the next tripadvisor comment. We understand that with that group and the multiple travel agents involved that there was some miscommunication about what and wasn't included. So just make sure that when you are booking,... More

First, there is a HUGE difference between staying at the lodge on the mainland in Dangriga town vs out on South Water Caye. I strongly suspect most of those giving negative reviews stayed in Dangriga. But out on the island? My lord, it's a veritable paradise. It was everything the lady and I had hoped for in an idyllic beach... More

The Pelican was amazing. I really had a great time. The whole thing was really charming from the geckos on the walls to the open, breezy walk ways. I felt very well taken care of and well stocked with towels, soap and travel suggestions. The restaurant was great, well priced and quite a selection. I traveled with my mom, who... More

We traveled to Belize with our 3 teenage daughters whose criteria for our vacation was to travel to a place with no museums and no tours and with a great beach. When I started to look at Belize I started looking at hotels up North near San Pedro, I read that 60% of the hotels were in that area. One... More

This is my second trip to the hotel and it was a pleasure to return. Really nice to say the hotel is getting better. They have built on the exsiting main building and they have done a great job. The side building has 8 rooms which are nice but quite dark rooms. The newer rooms in the main building are... More

We arrived early at the Dangriga Pelican Beach Resort, much too early for our boat ride to South Water Caye, so we sat on the patio and had lunch and cokes. The staff were extremely friendly here, and the food was good. However, if you visit, be sure to coat both arms and legs with bug spray, because the sandflies... More
