I had read the reviews but still didn't really know what to expect. Barefoot Travis picked me up in Dangriga and we jumped in the boat for the ride to Thatch Caye. As it began to appear on the horizon, my excitement grew. Would it be what I expected? How would the diving be?( That is the main reason I... more

In June, my wife and I traveled to Thatch Caye for our Honeymoon. It was amazing. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to handle the slight mishaps. The Island is not like most others that are crammed full of cabanas and casitas. There is ample room to wander about the island and have a sense... more

My husband and I just returned from a two week trip to Belize! We were lucky enough to spend 4 days and nights at Thatch Caye. We simply cannot say enough good things about it. This is not a place for people who want fancy five start resorts. It is the perfect place for gorgeous scenery, charming cabanas, a staff... more

Thatch Caye is a beautiful place, and every single staff member was friendly and extremely helpful. They really bend over backwards to make sure you are comfortable and happy. We stayed in a Cabana at first and then were upgraded to a Casita. Even though the Casita is more expensive and roomier, I'd recommend the Cabana. The cabanas are directly... more

My husband and I traveled to Belize in early April 2009. We spent the first 5 days at Thatch Caye Resort, and the next 4 days in Caves Lodge Branch (actually, that was at the suggestion of the staff of Thatch Caye who was very helpful in helping us plan our trip.) Things to do: Three of the 5 days... more

We had the pleasure of staying 6 nights/5 days at Thatch Caye Resort for our honeymoon. We had an amazing time!! Every single person on their staff was professional, extremely kind, and hard-working. We have never received such top-notch service. We had the best mix of activities and down-time. We went snorkeling at the reef, kayaking around the cayes, fishing... more

Thatch Caye turned out to be the perfect place for our honeymoon. We wanted to go somewhere beautiful and peaceful where we could relax but also be active. The highlights included: sitting on our deck watching the AMAZING stars at night, kayaking around the other cayes in the area, snorkeling with great guides on a beautiful reef, and the wonderful... more

The island was truly the perfect place for us to spend our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived at the airport in dangriga we were welcomed by all, and this welcome was extended throughout our stay. The location, the staff, and the outings on the sea and in to the mainland could not have been better. The island was truly... more

We stayed at Thatch Caye for four nights with two small children. We arrived at the beginning of the slow season, but felt very well taken care of. From the hearty greeting by the owner, Steve, as he took us onboard the boat for the trip to the Caye, to the introduction to Balin, the bartender/host at "Thatch Central", a... more

My (brand new) wife and I recently spent our honeymoon on the amazing Thatch Caye and all of the photos online and reviews on this site do not do this place justice. While it was a little hot (we were warned that it was off season in June), there were plenty of fans and a wonderful breeze to keep us... more
