The scenery is gorgeous - it's peaceful and surrounded by wildlife: birds and butterflies. Groves of lime and orange trees surround the thatched roof cabanas. Mr. Ricky runs the place and will ply you with his knowledge of the birds in the area. Grace is your personal chef if you want to take your meals there. We chose breakfast in... More

The pictures the owner have up are very old. The place is beautiful. Not the sterile place that is depicted. Thanks to Ricky's hard work of planting and maintaining the trees and other flowers! We were a group of ten traveling together. This place could not have been more perfect for us! We all had beautiful large rooms, spacious bathrooms,... More

The cabanas here are big, airy and spotlessly clean, with decent bathrooms, a fridge, and a porch looking out across the well cared for gardens. They were probably the best quality rooms we used during our three weeks in Belize. In Ricky, the manager, we also had one of the most helpful people we met during our holiday. He is... More

This was the highlight of our trip to Belize. As avid nature lovers who adore birds we were in heaven the five days we spent at Casa. The grounds were well maintained with an astonishing variety of local trees and flowering plants. The view looking north toward the rolling hills in the distance was enchanting. The cabana with its beautifully... More

This is a place I have visited several times. It's hard to know weather I should emphasis the quite peaceful nature of the grounds; the nature on the grounds; or the kind, friendly supportive staff. The grounds are open and provide great views of the area, while also being densely vegetated with beautiful flowering plants that attract great numbers of... More

The grounds are lovely with fruit and flower trees and a view of the valley that is beautiful. The cabanas were comfortable with tasteful furnishings and a modern bathroom with a large tiled shower. The bathrooms are the open concept, however; tall walls and door but no ceiling which might bother shy types. It wasn't a problem for us. Very... More

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation and would also like to help in preserving the bird life in Belize look no further. Our stay at the Casa was wonderful. The facilities are clean and comfortable. The rooms made from local materials and an exquisite thatched roof are airy and enjoyable. We ate at the Casa most days and... More

Want a quiet stay away from the hustle and bustle, yet conveniently located near several great ruins and birding hotspots? This is the place! Pleasant cabanas offer clean accomodations with great views of primary forest. The nature trail has informative plaques and the birding is exceptional. Don't forget to stop and say 'hello' to the lodge's namesake, Gringo the white... More

we highly recommend casa del caballo blanco! my husband and i stayed 3 nights at the casa while exploring the cayo and were really pleased with everything. the property is gorgeous -- looking out into the valleys and mountains of green rainforest was breathtaking -- and while the place is right off the main road, it's very isolated so it's... San Ignacio is very rural and Cayo district, while lovely in its natural beauty is still developing financially. Travel to the Cayo is a bit of an adventure; but one that is very doable and recommended. The primary draws would be the nature (caving, hikes, animals) and the Mayan Ruins. But for my family, Casa del Caballo Blanco was a... More
