When the hotelkeeper said they were re-doing all the rooms, he wasn't kidding! Our room was freshly painted and on our sedond day stay, they had replaced our curtains and shower curtain. When we check into our, it was quite hot. The hotelkeeper brought up a fan.! I loved it!! Between the ac and the fan, we were definitely chillin!... more

My two teenagers and I used Martha's Guesthouse as our base of operations for a week long trip to this area of Belize. Martha's picked us up on the docks in Belize City at the time promised and returned us to the airport at the time we requested. I give the shuttle service a 10 out of 10 score. The... more

We stayed at Martha's for a week, and would say it is the place to stay while in San Ignacio. Located just a couple of blocks from the main part of town, it is a well run and friendly place to base yourself while exploring the surrounding countryside, which is beautiful. Hugo, John, and Martha bent over backwards to help... more

Thanks to all the reviews posted on TripAdvisor for San Ignacio lodging, I had selected a room at Martha's, and was offered a room in their new Inn Annex, because it had AC and kitchen facilities for our 5 nights in the Cayo. We were VERY happy with our accommodations there, in a residential area, on Burns Ave., a short... more

It is convenient to downtown streets of San Ignacio (eating and shopping), but it is also easy access to street noise (trucks, honking horns, yelling, etc.). Could not have survived without an air conditioned room. Customer service is only available at your own initiative. Staff were disengaged and generally unhelpful. Food is okay, but increadibly slow. I have visited Belize... more

Our stay at Martha's Guesthouse was 2 years ago, but I assure you not much has changed. We stayed in the newest rooms down the street. It was very clean and quiet. We had a couple problems but don't you always when traveling in Belize. The air conditioner dripped on the bed, had to move next door. The lights went... more

My family stayed at Martha's for two nights in early June. We had two junior suties and a standard room and were disappointed. The rooms were clean, but there were dogs next door that barked constantly and I took a cold shower both nights (this may be a city problem). There was also a constant buzzing in room 9. It seemed... more

We stayed in a standard A/C room for four nights. Room was smallish but totally adequate, very clean, nice tile in the bathroom. The air conditioner was a bit loud, but didn't keep us up at night. We were worried that having a room with a window facing the street would be noisy, but never had a problem (although we... more

We stayed in the First Lady Suite on our quick 2 day stay in San Ignacio. The room was beautiful, large, and clean. The balcony was huge with a great sitting area and a fantastic panoramic view of San Ignacio. Well worth the extra money over the other rooms. We had four grown women in our group and the room... more

I think for the folks who got a room with A/C that they expected, everything is probably fine here; other friends of mine had a very pleasant experience. But my friends and I got a funky room (the old maid quarters?) that they had converted into a guest room with screen doors that didn't actually close all the way, 2... more
