Well had a little trouble finding the place, one way streets and narrow roads made it interesting. Stayed in room 9 on third floor. Third floor wifi quit half way thru stay, had to go to second floor to get signal thru concrete. Towels replaced and bed made daily. Felt very safe. Parking is a challenge. Near to many good... I read that Martha's was noisy. It is to be expected as it is in the middle of things. Unfortunately, during our two night stay there was construction going on right outside our room(room 2). Martha tried her best to get them to stop but they went on until 11 PM on a Sunday evening and resumed at 6 AM... More

We were booked into this hotel by a tour company after a day trip to Tikal. Sometimes these kind of bookings can be just average but we really liked this hotel. It is an older building with a lot of character in a good location a block from the small downtown area where most of the bars and restaurants are... More

We were looking for a last minute room in San Ignacio and I kept seeing Martha's come up on Trip Advisor so I decided to to see if they had a room. I wanted a private room as I was staying with my husband so yes, it was more expensive than a dorm room would have been elsewhere but I... More

Beautiful, clean rooms that were the nicest of any of the several hotels that we stayed at in Belize. New Air conditioning units cool the rooms down very quickly. The furnishings were relatively new in both rooms that we stayed in. We were able to leave our bags of expensive scuba gear with Martha while we made our own way... More

Stayed here two nights while doing a trip to Tikal, Guatemala. Very clean and comfortable rooms in a guest house style setting (i.e., no elevators). Beds were very comfy and the AC worked well (also had a large ceiling fan). My room also had a balcony that I didn't use because it faced the ally and I really just wanted... More

We had a one night booking at Martha's guest house. We came in person to put down our names. We called again the next day morning to confirm our booking - the lady who picked up the phone asked twice if we wanted to confirm and we said YES. Just to be safe, my husband and I swung by the... More

Pros: Martha's was a great place to stay. We had the upper level, which was a big room with a giant balcony with a fantastic view of the city. Furnishings were very nice, the room was clean, and we really enjoyed our experience. The price at $120 for our family seemed like a great deal - I would have guessed... More

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Martha's Guesthouse. The staff were so very warm and friendly, I am a single female traveler so this makes a huge difference! The rooms were spacious, neat, and very clean! They not only offered to help me plan a day trip to Tikal in Guatemala, they also provided recommendations on where to eat,... More
