We stayed in San Ignacio for 5 nights (Thursday-Monday) recently and are glad we chose Martha's place. The guesthouse is located right downtown within walking distance to several restaurants, bars, tour companies etc. the price to pay for such convenience is of course music from nearby disco playing until late at night, this didn't bother us one bit as we... I have stayed at Marthas in the past and enjoyed it. Hotel is fine, restaurant is fine. Perhaps it was just that I stayed mid-week before – I don’t remember. This time we booked Friday, Sat , Sun. and it was a disaster. The pounding and thumping from the music in the nearby town square until 3 am was intolerable.... More

We chose Martha's because we had dinner at the restaurant a couple of times during our last visit and we were so impressed with Marin (and his pinacoladas!) that we wanted to be there more often. Unfortunately, our visit was timed badly, and Martha was away for a week. They still put us up, but down the road at the... More

Between the a/c & the fan we were very comfortable during our entire stay. The bed was comfy and the staff friendly & accommodating. The yummiest food on their menu was a soup called Escabeche. It's a spicy soup with vegetables & chicken with fresh tortillas & coconut rice on the side.

My colleague and I accompanied 14 college students on a trip to Belize. We stayed in Martha's Inn (about a 5-10 minute walk from the Guesthouse) for one-week while we were in San Ignacio. We had the entire building to ourselves. There was parking for our two-large passenger vans. Maid service was included as well. Our students loved the place.... More

The acoomodations are nice and the location is great. My issue arose when I was leaving at 5:45AM to catch a tour. The main exit is closed from 10PM-6AM and you are to use another exit. To my chagrin, both exits were locked (deadbolted) and I tried to get out for 20 minutes with no one in sight. Finally, a... More

We went here for breakfast on our last day in town. The service was the best we had by far, so attentive and friendly. The food was also so delicious and fresh! We ordered so much food we had to pack a lot of it to go. There is an outdoor seating patio which was very pleasant and not commonly... More

We really enjoyed this super-friendly family-run guesthouse, which is great value for the price per night. Our standard-room (nr 1) with fan and air-conditioning, was airy and clean, with a comfortable ample bed and a spotless white bathroom with one of the best showers we had during our trip. We had no trouble with noise (maybe because the room was... More

I stayed in Martha's guesthouse for two days. It was clean and the wifi worked. They organized my ATM cave tour. My room had a queen bed and a twin bed. It would have been a good value for a family. Breakfast is not included.

We stayed at Martha's for 4 nights and can't rave about our experience enough! Marin, our waiter/bar tender/local tour advisor with much to share about his country and all of the sights to see, was an outstanding host. Martha's is centrally located to beautiful Mayan sites, cave tubing and as well as the fun San Ignacio night life. The hotel... More
