OK, so if you like duvet covers, fluffy bathrobes and someone to draw you a bath each night, this is not the place. BUT, if you like an authentic Cayo setting, with some incredibly yummy food and fabulous hospitality, then please stay at Parrot Nest! We are two adults, two kids (more like rapid animals, but I guess they are... More

and it's called Parrot nest....... The location is perfect. Located on a river in the middle of the Jungle. You wake up by the sound of the jungle and when you look out of the window you'll see jungle all around. Great experience! The owner (Marcus) is a fantastic guy, doing so much for the community and tourism in Belize/San... More

We planned to stay here for a few nights, stayed for a week. What more can I say? Marcus was an EXCELLENT host. Spent time with us, recommended books and excellent tours, drank with us, and was a generally awesome human being to top off our stay in Belize. He is an interesting person and knows a lot about Belize.... More

This place. Yes. Our plan was to stay for two days. We ended up staying for six. I think that says it all, really. It is a beautiful spot, in a lovely little town with very friendly locals, and just a short drive away from the city of San Ignacio, jungles, and loads of Mayan ruins. "The Nest" is owned... More

We spent a couple of nights here. While only 3 miles from downtown San Ignacio, we felt 50 miles away (in a good way). The cabins are spaced apart for privacy, with a great dining/common area. The food was absolutely delicious, and the owner Marcus was incredibly friendly, helpful, and full of information (he has lived in Belize for over... More

Great location, right at a bend of the Mopal River. We were the only customers at the time and I am sure it would have been very different with more people around. It is a nice location and the Mennonite house (#7) that was our home for 5 nights had a nice deck, with a hammock and couch/ table and... More

My boyfriend and I just returned from our trip to Belize. We rented a Jeep and found this very convenient for exploring on our own (or with a guide that we'd pick up along the way). We booked Parrot nest past on TA reviews and found it to be quite accurate. While Theo, the owner wasn't around, Marcus, her husband... More

Went there last may, and I still communicate with the owners. They are soo friendly and personable. They employ a woman from the town to help around the hotel, and lordy does she make great food. They have breakfast and dinner served there (should you opt for it), that is just killer. Breathtaking vibe you get from this place, beautiful... More

This is a great place to base day trips from in western Belize. Comfortable, good food and relatively inexpensive. The deck is great for relaxing and meeting up with other travelers staying at the Parrot Nest. Only drawback is the long walk to San Ignacio and the bad road for the last few hundred meters.

The parrots nest was recommended to me by my sister who traveled to Belize with friends the year prior. And when my husband and I decided to take our honeymoon to Belize, she helped us book our trip. Everything all the reviews say are true, it is a beautiful setting, Theo and her staff are amazing, and you will never... More
