Theo & Marcus (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) are awesome!! They know everything & can give you the best directions! So helpful I mean what would we do without them?! We're from NYC and staying in a treehouse & cabin was great & such a different experience. Great location for a base camp & not too far from... more

We spent four nights at Parrot Nest after a week of ocean adventures. It was eclectic and memorable. The rooms are thatch roofed huts that are permanently damp, but, you are in the jungle after all. I was pleasantly surprised to find that mosquitoes were not a problem, so the lack of netting on the beds was not an issue.... more

We loved our secluded jungle experience at Parrot Nest and liked the fact that we were only 3 miles from town - a short taxi ride (or a ride with Theo or Marcus when they are going into San Ignacio) from town. The lodgte is rustic, so if you are looking for 5 star accommodation, you may want to look... more

The hummingbirds and songbirds were a great compliment to the hearty breakfasts before starting out on the days adventure. The agoutis on the grounds are fun to watch and feed fruit and vegetables to. Theo and Marcus are very knowledgable and helpful about the entire region. We were 2 brothers (David and Derek) and our nephew (Jerime). The river attracts... more

We stayed at Parrot Nest for 4 days this January. It was our introduction to Belize and the best part of our trip. Adorable rustic cabins in a jungle setting run by the most wonderful people. Theo was a fabulous cook and incredibly knowledgeable about both Belize and Guatamala. Trust her, she won't steer you wrong. The common area is... more

The Parrot Nest was wonderful! We had an awesome time. My husband and I stayed there for just 3 days..and it wasn't enough. The only downfall...the rooms are a little small... this isn't a Hilton Hotel ( or any top-scale hotel you can think of ) ..the rooms are small and the showers were just ok. BUT...the owner of the... more

We loved our stay at Parrot Nest Lodge. The owner, Theo, is so welcoming and helpful. She loaned us her daughter's bicycle one day to save us money on a rental. Gave us great suggestions on things to do, how to manage our transportation from the airport, to Guatemala, etc. Gave us rides to town if she could fit it... more

After our week on Glover's Atoll, we decided to head into the Jungle and the parrot's nest was on the top of my list for accommodations. I'm glad we ended up there! First, we came into San Ignacio and tried to figure out what we were going to do for the next week. San Ignacio is a really nice little... more

Well, I would say that this place is super cool, but you have to go there knowing what to expect. I wasn't expecting what I was getting when I got there and my new wife almost couldn't stay there a second night. After some expaination and a few belikin beers she was ok with the giant gaps in the screen... more

The Parrot-Nest is great!! The location is a secluded river-side area a few miles outside of San Ignacio. The hotel owner and staff were very friendly as were the owners family. The rooms in the cabins are well maintained and clean (one must excuse the occasional bug or lizard... this is a lodge after all). There is also a nice... more
