From the moment our feet touched the jungle floor, we knew this was going to be magical. We were greeted by 3 adorable dogs upon entering the property. It felt like home! The river casually laps the shore and fireflies can be seen at night in the grass just beyond the outdoor dining area. We stayed in cabin 8 and... More

We stayed at Parrot Nest over Christmas 2014 and it was one of the highlights of our holiday! Marcus couldn't have been more helpful via email before we arrived and welcomed us into the jungle lodge, minding our rucksacks when we went on an overnight trip to Tikal. The cabins are clean and spacious, the shared outdoor sinks sparkling and... More

We stayed back in October 2013 and I keep meaning to come back and add my review. It was a wonderful experience! We travel with four young children ages 2 to 12. They put us in the largest cabin (#7, maybe?) and it was plenty of room for the six of us. The private bathroom for that cabin is also... More

Take a KOA campground cabin, then add the hospitality of a bed and breakfast and the relaxed vibe of a hostel, and you've got the Parrot's Nest. This is not a hotel; this place is much more personable than that. No, there is no air-conditioning, but the nest's location in the jungle and along the river make it much cooler... More

OK, so if you like duvet covers, fluffy bathrobes and someone to draw you a bath each night, this is not the place. BUT, if you like an authentic Cayo setting, with some incredibly yummy food and fabulous hospitality, then please stay at Parrot Nest! We are two adults, two kids (more like rapid animals, but I guess they are... More

and it's called Parrot nest....... The location is perfect. Located on a river in the middle of the Jungle. You wake up by the sound of the jungle and when you look out of the window you'll see jungle all around. Great experience! The owner (Marcus) is a fantastic guy, doing so much for the community and tourism in Belize/San... More

We planned to stay here for a few nights, stayed for a week. What more can I say? Marcus was an EXCELLENT host. Spent time with us, recommended books and excellent tours, drank with us, and was a generally awesome human being to top off our stay in Belize. He is an interesting person and knows a lot about Belize.... More

This place. Yes. Our plan was to stay for two days. We ended up staying for six. I think that says it all, really. It is a beautiful spot, in a lovely little town with very friendly locals, and just a short drive away from the city of San Ignacio, jungles, and loads of Mayan ruins. "The Nest" is owned... More

We spent a couple of nights here. While only 3 miles from downtown San Ignacio, we felt 50 miles away (in a good way). The cabins are spaced apart for privacy, with a great dining/common area. The food was absolutely delicious, and the owner Marcus was incredibly friendly, helpful, and full of information (he has lived in Belize for over... More

Great location, right at a bend of the Mopal River. We were the only customers at the time and I am sure it would have been very different with more people around. It is a nice location and the Mennonite house (#7) that was our home for 5 nights had a nice deck, with a hammock and couch/ table and... More
