My wife and I stayed at Cohune Palms for four nights. It is right on the Mopan river and the setting is very nice. The staff was good. It is a taxi ride to San Ignacio so, if you want to be near the city you need to factor that in. However, it was always easy to get a taxi. more

As a frequent visitor to the area, let me respond to some of the misleading info re: recent posts about this place. If one wants to be walking distance from downtown San Ignacio, it would be a good idea to research one's choice of lodging, and not pick a place that is not walking distance and then complain about it.... more

There are some wonderful things about this place: The cabanas are really cute and it's fun to live in the jungle in a thatched roof hut. The owners and staff are all very very nice people.
