Wasn't quite the place it appeared to be on the web site, but adquate and convenient to the town of San Ignacio and the Western Highway. Nice new outdoor bar. Our cabin was a little 'worn' but still kept clean. Other cabins looked a bit better from the outside, so ours may be the last one to be updated. If... More

Midas is always very welcomed after a long bus ride from Belize City. Midas is a very peaceful, comfortable old friend. The staff is wonderful...the breakfast,unsurpassed...the pool is so very cool and inviting. Maria and Michael keep things ship shape. More

Midas is an excellent choice if you want a clean, cheap, and comfortable hotel that's close to everything in San Ignacio. If you're planning to do the ATM and cave tubing tours, it's the perfect base camp. Beware, quite a few hotels are an hour ride ($40 US cab) up the mountain near the Macal river. I liked that Midas... More

Not quite what I had in mind after viewing the website, but pretty good overall. The grounds could definitely use a little upkeeping. There were random piles of concrete around which appeared to have been there for awhile. Our first night we stayed in a deluxe room, but switched to a cabana for the rest of the stay (the walls... We stayed in a king suite. It was clean and comfortable with a/c and a celing fan. Waking up to the singing jungle birds was nice. Only issue we had was the hot water. We had two days of cold showers, but they became refreshing once we got used to the the cool water. The Midas is just on the... More

Recently stayed at Midas in San Ignacio in order to take a tour over the border of Guatemala to visit Tikal. We were able to make arrangements to get breakfast early there in order to have something to eat before leaving on an all day trip. Most importantly they expressed disgust at how we were treated by CRYSTAL AUTO RENTAL... More

Beautiful, clean, comfortable rooms with large showers, aircon and hammocks on the porch. Huge new swimming pool which attracts locals, as well as visitors. Complete with poolside bar and volleyball net. Only drawback is the walls are a bit too thin ;-) Walk to town in about 8 minutes, or one mile to Cahal Pech (best to taxi up and... More

Our stay at the Midas resort was wonderful. Dorita and Delmi at the desk were fabulous at arranging our tours. I highly recommend using the resort to set up your tours. Louis led us through ATM which I wouldn't have been able to master without him. Diego took us to Caracol and included a marvelous side of birding. The resort... More

We choosed Midas because the website pictures were very cute, but it was a bad surprise when we arrived there, it was too expensive for the service and rooms. We were a group of 14 people and in some Cabanas there were frogs in the bathroom. The hotel has no restaurant and we had to search for a restaurant at... More

We loved Midas. The property is in the midst of an expansion and they've done a great job with the beautiful new floors added to the main building. Balconies and pool are awesome! check out the cave behind the pool's waterfall. We stayed in one of the cabanas and my son stayed in the main building. Cabanas are more rustic... More
