We have just returned from a week in Belize. Overall the stay was wonderful. Great country, nice people, and lots to do. We spent our first three nights at duPlooys jungle lodge. We took the bus from Belize City which was certainly an experience. The bus system is very organized and frequented by the locals so it was a great... more

We just returned from spending four nights at duPlooy's. The folks there are terrific and work hard to make sure that your stay is just how you'd like it. The rooms were comfortable. We booked on short notice so we ended up with adjoining rooms with the other couple we were traveling with and a shared bath. We had the... more

duPlooy's is certainly a luxurious way to experience Belize and the jungle. I haven't stayed at any other jungle lodges (there are several in the Cayo district), so I can't say how it compares ) We (a couple) were there for a full week. Their 'bungalows' are very clean and comfortable (one-room cottages with comfortable kingsize bed, bathroom and nice... more

My husband and I stayed at duPlooy's in January. We only stayed for 3 nights but wished we had stayed longer! The acccomodations, staff and food were all beyond our expectations. We went there to relax, and the absence of TV, e-mail and noise was wonderful. The only noises were the soft tropical rain and the many beautiful birds. And... more

My husband and I stayed at DuPlooys for five nights over Christmas before heading to the Victoria House on Ambergis Caye. We loved everything about our stay. The property was lush, gorgeous and so peaceful. We spend three nights in Jungle Lodge 4 and two nights in the casita and both were immaculately clean. Jungle lodge 4 is the closest... more

Just back from staying at duPlooys (February 2008). It is a beautiful spot, with buildings linked by walkways perched on stilts along a ravine along the Macal River. The bungalows are spacious and meticulously clean, the staff is accommodating and the food creative and excellent. Ricky the bartender is a cheerful and helpful guy, serving up exotic local juices like... more

We stayed at DuPlooy’s for four nights after Christmas, after a four-night stay at Belizean Shores (see my review of this resort too.) It was a huge contrast to go from the white, clean, sunny conditions on the beach to the muddy, messy jungle – even though we booked our trip this way, it was a difficult transition. But the... more

We arrived at DuPlooy's on Christmas Day for a 5-night stay and and began our amazing 2-week Belize vacation! We all agree that DuPlooy's was the highlight of our trip. They treated us like royalty there and all of the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about Belize we felt like we were being treated to special service all the... more

Spent 4 days at duplooys over New Year's. The staff was so friendly and nice. My daughter had a cold and within hours, the entire staff knew about it. At dinner, the staff asked her how she was feeling. The cleaning people even stopped by our bungalow the next day to ask how she was doing. The location is beautiful... more

We stayed at duplooys quite a while back and enjoyed it... the property is lush, gorgeous! The food was excellent and the optional tours during the day were good. We opted to go to Tikal in Guatemala overnight and it was the highlight of our trip! Like another traveler, we were disappointed by the little interaction the owner family had... more
