We enjoyed staying here. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the cookery course-well done Rosita! The rooms are clean and pleasant, but not luxurious. The food is very good.It was well worth being there on a Saturday to go to the market - it's much smaller on other days.

Good and the bad Cons- old, dank cottages with atrocious lighting and a few bugs. Food was ehh. Some good some bad. Car got hit in parking lot, owner refused responsibility on his own property. Owner pulled up with SUV w/ trailer hitch last day that matched my damaged perfectly. Tried to get employees' husband to repair and he split... More

We do provide secure fenced & gated parking for our guests. These guests, we later learned, damaged the car before entering our secure parking. An employee saw them place the broken bumper parts on the ground before approaching a female manager with their story. They had backed into a remote part of the parking lot jammed between other vehicles in... More

My wife and I stayed three nights at this small hillside lodge and loved it. It's definitely low-carbon-footprint and that's a lot of its charm. We were in a thatched-roof cabin with a hammock on the porch. Meals were "en plein air" a short walk through rain-forest. The food was great and the chef made a point of making me... More

We had a group of 18 people stay at Maya Mountain Lodge for 4 nights and I can't say enough about what a great experience we had there! The staff did such a great job accommodating our large group for meals and even went over and above to change meal times (as well as a cultural performance) to accommodate our... More

Our family enjoyed the stay. The room was adequate. The pool was refreshing. It is about a 15 minute walk into town. The resort offered tours and food as a package and we were glad we did that. Food was delicious and we really enjoyed the cooking class with George. It may be a bit on the speedy side for... More

A friend and I stayed at Maya Mountain in April 2015. We stayed for two nights and visited Tikal during the day so we weren't at the resort for too long. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. The grounds were very nice and we enjoyed night swimming in the pool. All of the food we had was delicious.... More

Great place to stay with easy walk to San Ignacio. Staff very friendly and helpful. I loved the themed evenings where they would present one of the many foods from the region. Food delicious and creative. Found the rooms in the large block would need to be changed a bit to be a totally great experience. A bigger more comfortable... More

We stayed 3 nights at MML and found it clean and comfortable - just what we needed after exploring on long hot days. The food was authentic and the people are very friendly. The lodge is a short taxi ride from town but you might find you'd rather stay and relax and enjoy the flora and fauna of the lodge... More

My parents and I stayed at Maya Mountain Lodge for 3 nights in mid-March 2015. We were immediately struck by how welcoming the owner and his staff were. We wanted to explore the Mayan ruins, so they helped us plan a day-long tour to Tikal in Guatemala. We also went on a day-long Macal river "jungle cruise" that was very... More
