We arrived exhausted after an a long journey and our room was not as we expected. The hotel were very accommodating and fixed everything while we were having dinner. From then on we cannot say enough positive things about Maya Mountain Lodge. The food, staff and location were excellent. You may want to check the price of excursions in the... More

Anyone so fortunate to stay here will be very pleased. The setting is breathtaking, accommodations are very comfortable and pleasing with thatched roof, you can clearly hear the jungle sounds at night !! Awesome. The staff were unbelievable, when we left we felt like we were leaving a part of our family behind. The food and services were excellent, everything... More

Wonderful place, very friendly and attentive staff! Excellent local cuisine from various groups in Belize 5 nights a week a big plus. Such a peaceful and serene setting but only minutes from nearby towns. Bart has been developing the lodge for many years and his experience and expertise in catering to guests from a wide variety of backgrounds is top... More

The lodge its 5min away from Santa Elena, (the town right next to san ignacio, just divided by a river), so you can easily walk to any of this two places. The founder of the lodge seem to be involved in tourism for many many years in different activities so the lodge itself is very service oriented. They do have... More

We stayed at Maya Mountain Lodge for six nights. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. There are some nice freebies, such as a bag of ice whenever you want it, free tea and coffee with light snacks each night between 5 and 6. If you want to have a beer or drink, you must bring it in yourself,... More

The customer service received from the excellent staff stands out at this lodge. The staff are happy and helpful, particularly the restaurant staff, Martina was lovely! The cottages have thatched roofs and effort has been made to make them special, little touches like flowers on the bed and the towels, plenty of towels in the bathroom, including towels to be... We appreciate reviews as they give us a way of addressing challenges. We are happy that this guest loved our place so much and know that all suggestions are to see us improve. We look forward her return trip that she referred to. We have a great new maintenance supervisor who is also a trained and experienced WiFi network technician.... More

An easy access under two hours from Belize City and five minutes to town on a main road. We enjoyed the jungle experience which was centrally located to the main sites in the Cayo district. Thatched roofed cottages with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi in the room. There is a hiking path, pool, jungle gardens, and an open air restaurant... More

The owner really rubbed us the wrong way. He made very snide comments to us about not booking our Tikal, ATM cave, and Xunantunich tours through the lodge. He also was very pushy when it came to tipping, there was live music and dancing most nights of our stay, and the owner came up to every table guilt tripping his... More

We strive very hard to maintain the highest level of staff. During the Christmas peak month we hired temporary people to relieve the load on our core staff over the 30 day ~95-100% occupancy. Those people hired were family members or from trusted sources. They would have received only minimum public relations and professionalism training. If there was a problem... More

My family of 10 recently stayed at Maya Mountain and had a great visit. The lodge is in the hills above San Ignacio and surrounded by tropical forest. Rooms were very good with a nice ambiance. The staff was excellent; they cooked fabulous meals and catered to our different tastes and diets. They also booked great adventures. All in our... More

We had such a great time at Maya Mountain Lodges. Arriving on Christmas day we jumped straight into the cool pool and took in the beautiful views and exotic sounds. The staff were second to none, bringing drinks to us poolside, booking taxis, organising trips, keeping our room and the communal areas lovely and clean, all of this plus fantastic... More
