We stayed here as a staging point for a trip into Tikal. Very nice setting on a hillside. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were rustic but clean. Make sure the AC works as it can become stifling and humid at times.

My husband has always wanted to visit the Mayan Ruins so we booked the Maya Mountain Lodge to make our excursions easier. We had a cottage on the property and it was very clean. We did have a few ants and spiders in the bathroom but it was an easy to take care of them. The staff was so nice... More

Maya provided a comfortable home base for three nights allowing us to see Tikal and ATM. We stayed in a hillside cabana, which was clean and adequate. I don't know if the air conditioner worked or not - we were not provided any instructions in its usage. This is not what I would define as a jungle lodge since it... More

Well, I'll make this review short and sweet. We booked 4 nights here and didn't make it more than a couple hours. From the exterior this place seemed like it would be very nice. After we sat down on the bed, almost immediately bugs started jumping/crawling on us. Even after spraying and entire bottle of bug spray on the bed,... More

We regret that this reviewer’s expectations were not met, yet, sometimes this is almost impossible. It happens occasionally that individuals have needs different from each other and, without consulting, one person books a jungle lodge when the other person wanted a town luxury hotel. We received an apology from one of them when they checked out explaining that they understood... More

My girlfriend and I spent three nights at Maya Mountain. We arrived in the afternoon and ended up eating at the resort. The food was good, however, you will find a lot more value when you go into San Ignacio. We rented one of the rooms in the larger lodge. Room was clean, and had AC and a fan. However,... More

We booked a room for Maya Mountain Lodge after visiting the Cayes to do Tikal and ATM excursions. The accommodations give you a feeling of being in the jungle, and it is a great escape from the busy world we live in. The staff was great and took care of our requests. We really liked Elmer! The people that stayed... More

Excellent personnel. They were very friendly and helpful. Set you up for trips daily and made sure all was fine each day. We paid for the meal package and had great food for every meal. Nice central area that was open air where meals were served. Everyone gathered here and shared stories about the days adventure. Always had tea out.... More

I was one of 24 that visited this lovely place. My room was very comfortable even sharing it with a fellow traveler. The thatched roofs made the rooms feel spacious and authentic. The meals were well prepared and our hosts bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. There is a pool on the premise but since... More

A little out of the town in Santa Elena on a side road to the left up a hill off western road before turning right for the bridge detour if your heading west on western road into Santa Elena. Grounds are nice and well cared for giving the place a jungle feel. The parking was plentiful while we stayed though... More

We thank the reviewer for sharing where deficiencies existed. The managers and owners have listened and corrected those deficiencies. The bed has been replaced, the new (3 weeks old) orthopedic mattress was, to our surprise, defective and was returned for a new mattress. The sun is finally out and we have been able to paint. We had record rains in... More

My twelve year old son and I spent three nights here and couldn't have been more pleased with this peaceful mountain retreat. Nestled a mile away from the main highway it was a peaceful place where you could hear the sounds of the jungle, rather than noise from the people. The staff were all excellent. My son is a vegetarian... More
