We (as many of you) wanted to visit a place that is in touch with Nature but not overpopulated with tourists. We came across Belize and decided we will get married and spend our honeymoon in Paradise. We read all the comments from all sites (positives and negatives), got a book on Belize, compared prices. Crystal Paradise was our choice.... More

Great experience in the Cayo District of western Belize. Shuttles provided to/from airport in Belize City. A comfortable base for day excursions in the region, guided and/or coordinated by staff. Nice facility, very friendly and helpful staff, very good local food prepared on site.(bring your own papaya). Birds galore for those who are interested. If you choose to go on... More

I did not stay at the resort but we were able to book several day trips with their excellent birding guides, Hector and Fernando. We stayed at Blancaneaux and they picked us up at our hotel promptly and took us wherever we wanted to go. The guides were very adaptable based on our expertise and interests. They were able to... I wanted to visit Belize to get jungle and sea, and this hotel certainly delivered the jungle. Set out from a remote little village about 15 minutes from Santa Elena, this hotel and grounds features a number of cabins with a fantastic indoor/ outdoor reception/ dining area. The room: We had cabin number 7, which was the only private cabin... More

A lovely family-run Belize-style (as opposed to American Style) resort. Good things: * Clean and attractive rooms and cabins, with hammocks. * Great food and courteous/knowledgeable staff * Wonderful birding from the open air dining area * Guests seem to mingle nicely, so this is a good place to meet fellow travelers with similar interests. Some things to consider: *... More

D guest most likely meant it would be a 3 1/2 miles walk without a vehicle. As there are a number of buses that go by Crystal Paradise daily. A minivan collectivo as we may refer it to runs between San Ignacio and Cristo Rey village 100 yards from the entrance to beautiful Crystal Paradise. We can call the driver... More

Crystal Paradise Resort exceeded any and all of my expectations. The Tut Family knows how to offer their guests a 5 star experience while still maintaining an authentic feel. The facilities are amazing. Warm and comfortable are words to describe the atmosphere. You feel like you are welcomed and belong. You can decide what attractions or excursions you want to... More

Crystal Paradise is on a pleasant piece of property about 600-700 yards from the Macal river. We arrived at dark around dinner time. After checking into our room (#8) we walked down to the open air "restaurant". Our meals at CP were good hearty homemade stews, roasted meats, very good flour tortillas, ham & eggs for breakfast, fresh fruit, homemade... More

Thanks for staying with us at Crystal Paradise. Yes I know hot water was a mess for a few days we later found out there was a leak caused by one of the tree roots pressuring the bike to break we had to break the floor to repair. It wasn't an easy find we came across a hot spot in... More

If you are going to Belize to not only relax and enjoy the country's splendid nature and history, but to experience Belizean culture, this is the perfect place for you. The fact that it is owned and operated by Belizeans is SUPER IMPORTANT because it means you know you are supporting the local people. It also means that you get... More

Always wanted to go birding in Belize and found CPR on the web. Wondered what we were getting into and found it to be perfect! The Tut family who run the lodge are just fantastic and what talented people. We chose to bird most of Belize and spent 12 days in the capable hands of Eric Tut...aka Prince Tut! As our... More

We stayed at Crystal Paradise resort for three nights during our bird watching tour in Belize. The resort is owned by a local family and well located to explore nearby reserves, parks and archeological sites. Free WiFi is available. Service is friendly, being provided by members of the Tut family, and members of the family are very knowledgeable about wildlife... More
