Black Rock Lodge is one of the most beautiful places I've visited. Beautiful grounds, great food, great accommodations and exciting activities. We stayed in both their waterfront villa one night and then their smaller cabin the second night (because we booked pretty last minute but really wanted to stay there based on their stellar reviews). Both were beautiful but the... More

The long, rough road into Black Rock might be a deterrent for the less adventurous. My experience is that great things usually come from travels through tough roads. Black Rock Lodge is a Treasure for those who make it to the end of the road. And it truly is the "end of the road". Our hosts, Petra and Pieter, were... More

I only wish we had states longer at BRL. This place was perfect - exactly the kind of vacation we were looking for. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and we met so many kind people from all over the world. Our room was like something out of a dream.

Can't say enough about what Cameron and Kelly have done here. Beautiful infrastructure, great food, great adventures without even leaving the grounds. The heat and humidity were tough on me but that was to be expected in a jungle valley. Saw many, many birds and Cameron was excellent helping with identification. Met some really great people around the dinner table.... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in March 2014. The hotel is located above a river with an amazing view across the valley. There are plenty of activities here and we did the hotel's night hike which was great, we also did the ATM cave tours - highly recommend! The rooms were very spacious and comfortable beds. The restaurant is... More

This was the second stop on our honeymoon to Belize. We loved the change in scenery after spending 10 days on the beach. Our lodging was minimal but clean and comfortable. The dining hall and yoga studio made us feel like we were living in a tree house. The staff was incredibly friendly and worked hard to make sure we... More

This is a true gem in the jungles of Belize. This was our second stop on our honeymoon in Belize and what a great time! The scenery is beautiful and the service is fantastic. The villas were beautifully appointed and really brought the beauty of the outdoors in. The entire staff was fantastic and super warm. The dinner area is... More

This is one top notch lodge! The views are incredible. The customer service even more so! We were so blown away by this place and could not recommend it more. Doing a night hike was so exciting for our son. The inner tubing and hiking on location is awesome. I am so thrilled to have found this place, and I... More

After taking the California bar exam, I needed a serious vacation. My friend and I chose to stay at Black Rock Lodge because it seemed like a convenient base for doing some of the touristy things we had read about: ATM, Tikal, Xunantunich, etc. We had some reservations -- for example, we had read that the property was a few... I honestly cannot say enough good things about our experience at Black Rock Lodge. Whatever we were expecting was exceeded a million times over. First - it is an adventure just getting there! We were coming from Ambergris Caye. We rented a car at the Belize International Airport and drove down. It is only about a 2 1/2 hour drove... More
