a really lovely part of the country. still largely agricultural area. the accommodations are super comfortable (try a night or two in the camp and then move to the resort). the food is good, the property lovely, close to mayan ruins and a unforgettable canoe through cave with David's Adventure Tours in San Agnacio.

'The Lodge' is actually an extensive and tranquil reservation in the rain forest with many facilities spread over hundreds of acres, from the spacious individual cottages which offer accommodation, the really excellent restaurant and the pool to the stables and horse-riding. It is well-positioned for other local facilities like the Mayan ruins about 20 minutes away. Its best quality is... More

Where do I start with... Chaa creek is such a memorable and unique experience; one I will never forget and one I will probably repeat at some time in my life. My wife planned this trip (I hardly plan a trip not somewhere near a nice surf break), so I was unsure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised... More

This is one of the best hotels that we stayed in during a five-week tour of mainly eco-lodges and boutique hotels in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Belize. The best feature is the service: the staff are unremittingly welcoming and helpful They make you feel very welcome. The hotel is perfectly located for a wide range of outdoor activities and visits... We got back from our Belize trip last night and this morning in the car my 12 year old son said his dream was to move to Chaa Creek and Marco the bartender would be his best friend. Needless to say my family of four, including a very wifi oriented 16 year old girl and an independent 12 year old... More

the cottages, the grounds, the pool are all beautiful, just as everyone has said. we found the dinners good but not great. we liked the bar/pool lunches much better and they were much better value. (also, note that the four-course dinners are a *lot* of food.) our disappointments were with the activities: on the night walk, we saw one animal... More

We really loved this camp!!! Such a great way to unplug (no electricity in cabin!), relax and listen to the sounds of the jungle. The best meals and desserts too! I would love to go back someday and just writing this review is making me miss it so much! We did the amazing ATM Tour with Carlos the Caveman (we... More

My wife and i invited our teenage nephew a His friend. It was my second visit to Chaa Creek, their first. We were there over Easter Break and the weather was perfect: warm and very little rain. Chaa Creeks staff is very welcoming and friendly. The grounds were beautifully groomed. The white-washed hotel and bungalow rooms glissened in the rain... More

We spent four nights at this truly unforgettable resort - as a family with a 15-year old son. The grounds are absolutely amazing - beautiful, clean, with lots of choices of what to do both on the property and the trips available to guests. The trip that will forever stay with us is of course ATM. We had a fantastic... More

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Chaa Creek. We booked the Surf & Turf package that included 4 nights at Matachica Resort on Ambergris Caye and 3 nights at Chaa Creek. It was the perfect combination of beach/water and rainforest/Mayan ruins. The bungalows and facilities at Chaa Creek are beautiful and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and... More
