We had a fantastic time. Great staff, beautiful rooms, wonderful tours and guides, first rate meals, lots of information on tours, nice on-site trails and activities (canoeing, nature trail, Mayan site), good pool. A true Eco-lodge not just in a name. We would go back in a heartbeat! More

Reasons to not miss that place: 1- you love nature in its pristine yet organized state 2- you want to keep a healthy diet and eat organic, fresh from the garden food, with a dash of innovative spirit. 3- You've always had that wild dream to live in a space where colorful birds wake you up in the morning and... We spent three nights at the Macal River Camp in late January. It was a great experience. We stayed in one of the smaller casitas (just two beds) but it was plenty big for us. It is a bit of a walk to the bathrooms, but nothing bad. It's just like when you go camping in the US, only the... More

We stayed in one of the cottages overlooking the Macal River and fell in love with it. There is so much to do and see on this beautiful nature preserve lodge. If you love nature and beauty, and the you will want to stay longer. Thanks to Mick & Lucy Fleming for creating this diamond on the Macal River. We... More

We recently returned from Belize and had a 2 night stop at Chaa Creek. We loved it! We randomly happened to fly in on the same flight as the owners of the resort (Lucy and Mick) and had the pleasure of riding back with them on the Chaa Creek private shuttle/van. We got a great feel for the resort and... More

We canoed to Chaa Creek for lunch one day from Table Rock Jungle Lodge, where we stayed for several days. We ordered some water, a couple of drinks, pizza, and fish and chicken fingers combo. The drinks were fine, but the water never arrived. The food was very unimpressive, and definitely not a good value for the money. At the... More

Our family stayed in the spa villa at Chaa Creek and enjoyed ourselves very much. The Villa itself was set at the top of a hill, over the spa, close to the butterfly garden and nature center. The Villa was beautifully appointed and stocked with provisions. If you rent this Villa be prepared for a lot of stairs - it... More

You have to be up for a "glamping" (glamorous camping) experience, but if you are, this is a great fit. The Macal River Camp is the best of both worlds. Our family roughed it in open cabins above the Macal River, complete with a bonfire in the evenings, grey fox hanging out, a fer de lance snake expertly dispatched by... More

Have stayed at Chaa Creek many times and miss the "days of diversity." As upgrades have been achieved and prices increased, the guests have become a predictable lot. All look the same, talk the same, walk the same and now come armed with electronic gadgets up the wazoo. Appreciate the staff, old and new. But this place needs to re-open... More

This is by far the best accommodations I have ever had. Having a bungalow in the rainforest is incredible. The price was high - but very well worth it. There aren't many places you can stay in the world with this type of atmosphere. The service was the best part. All of the staff are extremely knowledgeable and each experience... More
