The lodge is located in a beautifull and select enviroment into the jungle with a beautifull natural blue pool with runing water straight from the rocks and mountain. It has two lodges with two rooms each far apart one from the other for privacy ,surrounded by nature, streams of water, noises of frogs all sorts of insects and a wonderfull... more

My partner and I stayed at Ek’ Tun for four nights in late March/April. I loved my stay and would highly recommend it for travelers looking for a low-key, off-the-beaten-track experience—and a romantic one at that. As some reviewers have already stated, Ek’ Tun is not for everyone. It doesn’t have the amenities that large “jungle lodges” in the district... more

Ek Tun stands out as one of the most memorable places I have ever stayed. The two cottages are very well spaced so you have a complete sense of privacy. Phyllis is a truly great host, you couldn't ask for better. Highly recommended. more

Athough it is very beautiful there, there is no electricity what so ever. You may find this as a good thing, once you are there you will not. It's not just getting away from TV and computer. It means no light, no reading, no cold drinks, no food if your hungry between your two meals. At 5PM it is pitch... more

It is true Ek Tun is not for everyone but I believe most of us would benefit from a stay here. You may need to be a little flexible just because not everything in the jungle can happen just as you planned but that is part of the charm. There is no rush just a sense of peace. It is... more

My husband and I stayed at Ek' Tun for the last four days of our honeymoon in Belize. It was everything we hoped for and more! Driving to Ek' Tun from San Ignacio, we followed the directions to the lodge driving through citrus groves, cattle farms, and teak plantations to a spot by the river (near a few waterfalls) where... more

Phyllis' beautiful world is inviting, comforting, fun and absolutely delicious. We realize now, after being home for a few weeks, that our stay at Ek' Tun is indescribable. It is impossible to articulate the numerous ways my wife and I were positively affected by the experience. Ek' Tun is a place that will consistently remind us of peace and happiness... more

From the moment we turned off the Western Highway we started leaving the rest of the world behind. Ek'Tun is truly a magical place away from everything. From the first landing on the banks of the Macal River and up the path to the cabana, we fell completely under Ek'Tun's spell. This is a very special place. Phyllis is the... more

It has been a few years since my wife and I stayed at EkTun and I would like to mirror the positive reviews. We stayed there for three nights in April 2004, the only guests, so we had the place to ourselves. Absolutely beautiful, in a genuinely interesting area. We spent our evenings , after delicious fresh home cooked dinners... more

I write about Ek'Tun from the distance of a couple of years, but it is still on the top of our list when we think of memorable vacations. From reading recent reviews, it is clear that Phyllis is still operating an amazing B&B in lush, natural surroundings. Yes, it's rustic roads all the way but once you reach the river... more
