This hotel is a good bet. The prices are very decent for what you get, really. It's well located on a hilltop, near the main road (a pedestrian street where you'll find some restaurants and bars). Shamera (the owner/receptionist) will surprise you with all the answers to all your questions. She was probably the most informative, smart and kind person... More

Very nice place to stay. The price was very good for the room I got. Wifi worked perfectly and the center of San Ignacio is just 2 min walking downhill. Perfect place for 1 or 2 nights, on the way to Flores.

OK, the furniture will not win prices. We stayed at room 1, maybe one nice picture on the wall and matching covers on the bed would make a difference. But: everything was OK and working. We had a fan and good airco, hot water and good pressure, working cable tv and if I wanted to I could have ironed my... More

Rainforest Haven is centrally located in San Ignacio, not far from the main square. The facilities are spartan but clean and it was an excellent value. The best part of our stay was our lovely hostess Shamera - she really went above and beyond with booking tours, giving directions, recommendations, and generally making sure we had a good experience.

Not a fancy place but the owners are happy to help with anything. They will go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay. Online pictures are bit dated and the property doesn't look quite that good but its still fine.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The price was great and the room we stayed in was on the top floor...so outside there was a huge roof deck, hammock, small breakfast table, and above ground pool. It is also on the same level as the common kitchen, so that was very convenient. The main part of town is Burns Ave.... More

This is one of the better hotels we stayed at on our trip to Belize and Mexico! I would stay here again if staying in the San Ignacio/Santa Elena/Cayo district area. It is near the town center and tours are done from this area of the district. Very centralized.

You can tell that Shamera, who runs everything, takes it very seriously. She was always friendly and loved answering questions. You can contact her 24-7 with a problem, which we never had to do because the place is great. We had room #2. A/C, good wifi. Big shower. We made use of the fridge in the communal kitchen. Plenty of... More

This is a solid budget hotel. It's sparse but pleasant and clean. The shared kitchen is convenient, and I enjoyed hanging out on the hammocks on the roof. The location is good (right near a bunch of restaurants, ATM, grocery stores). Plus the host made sure we always had enough purified water! The hotel is by no means luxurious, but... More

Stayed here in a room with two double bed and AC with a friend. One night stop to see some Mayan ruins. Way more than I bargained for. This is a 5 room boutique hotel in the center of downtown San Ignacio. Extremely nice and comfortable rooms with exceptional common areas. Two rooftop decks overlooking the city, full common use... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Unlike a new hotel with standardized rooms, the Rainforest Haven Inn in San Ignacio, Belize is an antique structure with varying room configurations. It was built as a private home and the three storage building with only five-bedrooms has a more rustic feel. Each room is unique but aiming to make you feel at home. Rooms are equipped with air conditioned with the exception of "room 4", cable TV, hot and cold bath and free WiFi. What makes us unique is that we are the only accommodation in the downtown area that offers a roof deck pool. Our guests have access to a full kitchen on the third floor which is perfect to make a quick meal, warm your food or make some coffee. We also feature a terrace that has a 360 degrees view of San Ignacio and is a lovely place to have your coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. There is also a beauty shop on the ground floor. The Rainforest Haven Inn also features daily room services for free, car rental services, and laundry services for a fee. We are about a 3-5 minute walk to restaurants, grocery shops, banks, tour agencies, bus terminal etc. Everything is very close without feeling like you are in the thick of it. Our attitude is to treat everyone as an individual and provide them with friendly and respectful service. We are passionate about making you feel at home. ... more   less
