Ron and Al have done an admirable job in clearing the jungle to create a great jungle lodge. Because of my recent lung transplant, they washed the walls of our cabin with a dilute bleach solution to make sure there wasn't any mold problem--it IS a rain forest. The bed was comfortable, with adequate blankets. The thatched covered large central... More

If you're like me, you tend to enjoy your vacations, but often "wish just a few little things had been different." Well, I've just come back from a stay at Macaw Bank Jungle Lodge and I wouldn't change one single thing., Having read the reviews here on TripAdvisor, I was pretty sure Macaw Bank would suit my desires for a... Macaw Jungle Lodge was an amazing experience. From the day we drove up until the day we left I felt totally at home. The accomodations were very comfortable albeit a little chilly. Ron told us to bring warm pajamas but I didn't listen. But it was made nice and warm by the extra blankets that were provided. At night you... More

This resort is highly rated for a reason. It is seriously awesome! Ron & Al have an amazing journey/story and it was our pleasure to be in their company and talk, laugh and listen. Oh ya, the lodge is pretty amazing too... My husband and I had just spent 6 blissful days on Ambergris Caye and decided to explore the... More

I had the pleasure of spending two wonderful nights at Macaw Bank at the end of October, I don't have sufficient supurlatives to describe the wondeful sights and sounds experienced at Macaw Bank,, and for the food, well, as my title says, it was like I had my own personal chef to prepare the food I liked the way I... I have returned to Belize and continue to travel the country. After a brief chat with my "partners in travel and non-crime", we decided that a visit back to Macaw Bank was well in order based on past experience. I don't know how Ron & Al did it, but it just keeps getting better and better. Our accommodations were very... More

I just got back from Macaw Bank and the birding was fabulous! I saw about half of the Belize bird list. The peace and serenity improved my health like a spa. Fresh air, fresh food, waking up to bird calls, sitting under the stars. The plants and river are natural - it's like a botanic garden. It was MORE than... More

I found the staff, the food and the accommodations to be above average, and a wonderful home like experience. It is remote with everything you need right at the resort. Ron and Al are great people, and great COOKS. I found the food better than most restaurants. The prices are reasonable also. Where can you get a tenderloin steak, cooked... More

I took my entire family to Ron's and we had a great time. I rented out 4 of the 5 cabins, and had the run of the place. Ron was great! He even walked up the road and booked me the two rooms from Inn the Bush since I needed more space. We were looking for remote, and we got... More

Whie I completely understand that nobody likes it to "rain on their parade " , you chose to visit during the rainy season, and you more than likely would have encountered the same problems at any jungle regardless of much you paid for the room. We always welcome constructive criticism as we are constatantly striving to provide better service ,... More

After our atrocious treatment at 'Mystic River Resort', we drove a little further and ended up at Macaw Bank Jungle Lodge.. and how thankful we are that we did. From the first moment we stepped out of our 4-wheel drive at the lodge we felt at ease, and the anger from our experience at Mystic River vanished. What wonderful hosts... More
