What a wonderful trip! Everything about the trip was relaxing, thanks to our kind and accomodating hosts, Ron & Al. The grounds were stunning- there were hammocks set up for afternoon naps (complete with rum and coke- a local favorite....and, by the way, Belizean Rum is to die for!), beautiful orchids, and, even Mayan ruins! Mornings entailed waking up to... more

Thanks so much for the superior service, food, lodging, and the friendships we know will last a lifetime! Macaw bank is the FIRST place we will stay on our next trip to Belize! Everything, including the scenery, activities, pets, atmosphere, made us feel relaxed and at home; can't say enough about the experience; wish we could have spent more time... more

Before I write my review of the property itself, just in case my first sentence is all you read, I have to rave about the food! The food at Macaw blew some of the 5 star restaurants we've eaten at in the city, out of the water. There wasn't one thing that we didn't enjoy. Even if you chose to... more

My dad 78 1/2 and my mom is 76. They are in very good health and they wished they had discovered Macaw Bank many years ago. They have asked me to write a review so other people would know about their trip. They said it is the first place they have actually relaxed in many vacations. The food was excellent... more

We met Ron and Al a few years ago in San Ignacio and made sure to spend some time with them beyond Cristo Rey on our last trip. They are gracious hosts with talents for gourmet cooking, story telling, and pioneering in the mountains of Belize. The Butterfly cabin was cool, comforable, and peaceful. We especially liked the stone shower.... more

Both the lovely owners treat you as though you are family, genuinely caring for the comfort of your stay. Beautiful hand made furniture, local made rugs and gas lamps add... more

I am a Belizean and when my family and friends come to Belize, we always love to stay at Macaw Bank Jungle Lodge. The place is beautiful, well groomed, very peaceful and quiet. The food is the best and the prices are very reasonable. When you are there you can feel the real Belize, where wildlife abounds. We saw Toucans,... more

We recently stayed at the Macaw bank for 5 nights, and it was the perfect vacation. Its secluded interior location is an easy drive from the airport. The deep jungle gives an amazing romantic setting but is also ideally located to visit many of the Mayan temples in the Cayo District. Ron and Al (and Eduardo and Henri!) are the... more
