Great and Fun Times Were Had!! Our Family of Four stayed for a week. It was great. The hospitality was just right. The Food was delicious and filling, The fresh fruit in the morning was really yummy. Ron and Al have done an amazing job of carving out a delight of a place to stay in the jungle. The attention... More

My significant other and I stayed two nights at the Macaw Bank Jungle Lodge. Ron kindly picked us up from San Ignacio as the resort was only reachable by four-wheel drive at that time of the season and we did not rent a car. The lodge is located 9 miles from San Ignacio, and the drive takes approximately 45 minutes... More

We can’t say enough about our six night stay at Macaw Bank but we’ll try. First are the people: Ron and Al are caring, funny, helpful, great conversationalists and just plain fun to be around. Their staff of local folks are attentive: Reuben serves a great drink and Jason’s knowledge of the local flora and fauna is impressive and helpful.... More

My husband and I spent three nights at the Macaw Bank jungle lodge in the butterfly room and have been talking about it since. There was so much to take in.. The amazing and inspiring Al and Ron who set this amazing true eco green lodge up, the symphonic sounds of the jungle at night, and the yummy food made... More

At this lodge you see pretty much everything as we saw owl's, Macaws flying, and all sorts of rain forest birds. The food is amazing at this place. Ron offers amazing tours to the ruins and to Guatemala. I stay here around four years ago.

We descended on Ron and Al with little warning, but from the moment we stepped out of our car we felt welcome and well cared for. After dropping our gear in our cabana, we went inner tubing on the river. (Another reviewer complained that the river was slow. Maybe it is at certain times, but I would describe it as... More

Though we were here only 2 nights, we had a great time!! Ron, Al, and Henri were so kind and helpful! If you needed anything, they would immediately act on it! And the food......WOW..it was like dining at a 5 star restaurant in the middle of the jungle! So good! Very well kept grounds! And the cabana where you eat... More

We stayed at Macaw Bank Lodge for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Ron and Al really took care of us and ensured that we felt right at home. Their hard work over the years to create a jungle lodge that is both ecological and comfortable has paid off and the authenticity of the establishment is evident from the... More

Where to start? After looking at several different jungle lodges in the area, we finally decided on Macaw Bank and we are so glad that we did. The location is beautiful, the cabanas are unique and charming (no cookie cutter hotel suites), and the owners and their help were great. Ron and Al made this such a wonderful and personal... More
