We stayed 10 days at the Hi-Et while in the process of moving to San Ignacio, the price was affordable for that amount of time and we had seen the outside of the hotel and thought it looked nice.
We made our reservations over Skype, from the States, and I didn't expect anyone to have any idea who we were when we got there a month later. To my surprise they knew us, were expecting us, and had our room ready. The room was very clean, small but organized to give as much space as possible. There is a really nice porch like area to hang out on outside, and inside there's a common area with a TV, although it wasn't working when I turned it on. Towels are provided and they have hot water. The beds are comfy and clean. There is a computer with internet you can use for I think it was a dollar for a half-hour, but it's not very fast.

The family who runs the hotel is really nice. They gave us information about how to get to the Guatemalan border and let us keep our stuff in the hotel while we did a tour during the day, and then let us use their...
