Stayed there on two occasions in March 2012. Owners were friendly. Rooms were clean with their own bathroom with shower. There was a veranda in the front and back to chill out and have some quiet time during the hot hours of the day. Ask for a room at the back to avoid the early morning traffic especially on Saturday... More

Stayed at this hostel on my way back through San Ignacio after a month in Guatemala.Owner is Junior, whose wife was away at the time, so maybe she is nicer and more intelligent than him. Initially Junior was merely abrupt and unfriendly but things degenerated rapidly.....when he discovered that 4 weeks before I had stayed at another hostel in San... More

We arrived in San Ignacio in March 2012 without a hotel reservation. We wanted to stay at Martha's, which is across the street from Hi-Et. However, when we travel, we are there to explore the area, not to sit in a hotel room. The Hi-Et was perfect for that. It isn't a hotel, but a guesthouse. The owners of the... More

A local suggested this place after over hearing us talk about staying at Martha's which is across the street. We were on a tight budget while in San Ignacio because we wanted to go on multiple excursions while in the area. This is a great, centrally located hotel for that. There are no frills here but if you just plan... More

We travel to San Ignacio and chose this hostel by hazard we spend 2 nights there other than our room was in front of the building we could ear everything going on in the street until 0500am the place feels super safe and super warm maybe because of the fact that you have to walk across the owner's living room... We wanted a room that was in the center of town, near all activities, clean, but not expensive. That is exactly what we got. The rooms do have thin walls, but this did not affect us at all. Ceiling fans kept the rooms cool at night. Pillows on the beds were a little uncomfortable. We found the owners to be... More

This is a hostel like atmosphere, Super friendly owners. I stayed here for four nights and I would stay here again. The only draw backs are thin walls with alarms starting around 5:30am and limited hot water. More

I have to say I disagree with the low rating for this hotel. Service was good, rooms were very large with a private bathroom, and even a nice balcony where you can enjoy your evening Belikin beer while reminiscing the day's adventures and looking down at the city life below. Location is great, within a 1 minute walk to just... More
