If it is jungle and nature you are looking for, Pooks is the place to go!! Any negative comments about Pooks were likely written by individuals who did not know what they were booking and expecting the traditional resort style accomodations. Pooks is anything but traditional in the standard sense. The Owner and Staff at Pooks are some of the friendliest... More

We Definitely Recommend Staying at Pook's Hill! We took three teenagers with us and stayed three nights at Pook's Hill. It was the kid's first experience of staying in a Jungle Forest. The trails and River were great for hiking and exploring. We took the tours of Caracol and ATM Cave that were arranged by Pook's Hill. Both were great,... More

This is one of the most unique places to stay in Belize or Central America. Hospitality is incomparable thanks to owner Vicki, always present, as well as Mike and George, who are perfect guides for the jungle walks. Comfortable and cozy rooms, extremely pleasant and tranquil atmosphere and with only 2 hours' drive from Belize City airport it is a... More

My two daughters and I were looking for a comfortable place to rest our heads as we wanted to explore the many treasures the country has to offer. Pooks Hill exceeded all of our expectations. Run by an accommodating and talented staff, every day was full of affirmations that things can be done well. The food was fresh, creative and... More

Unless you want to be a prisoner to the tours run by the lodge, this place has very little to offer. It is remote, but not in an exciting way, and the management thinks they are way cooler than they really are. The mosquitoes can be quite annoying, too.

What an awesome place to stay! Pook's Hill Lodge is out in the middle of the rain forest, down a 5.7 mile dirt road. It is off-grid, but you'd never know it. The staff and owners are amazingly friendly, and make the place a wonderful retreat. Happy hour is at 6 pm, and everyone gathered in the open-air lounge area... More

We stayed at Pook's only one night in a Bird's Walk Cabana. We were on a budget but this was our one night splurge at an expensive, remote jungle lodge, and we picked Pook's so we could be the first into ATM (yes, it was worth being first). We went on their night jungle walk, which was fun -- lots... More

This year we went to the Easter Festival in Antigua, Guatemala and also visited Santiago and Tikal. We opted to return to Pook's Hill at the end of our trip because we had enjoyed it so much last year. We were not disappointed. Last year Vicky was on site and this year we got to meet Ray. There is a... More

Just returned from a fantastic stay at Pook's Hill Lodge. For a rural, rustic, off the grid, supposedly low amenities resort, the customer service was outstanding. The Pook's Hill staff took care of everything in our prearranged itinerary. They picked us up at the Belize City Airport, stopped briefly at the Belize zoo, then brought us to the resort for... More

I stayed at Pooks Hill for 4 nights as part of a group trip - we had the entire property to ourselves. We travelled during the hotest month of the year (April) and I was concerned about no AC, however the temperatures at night were fine (warm but not hot). There was lots of cool water in the shower for... More
