well this was the star of my 5 week trip through Guatemala Honduras and Belize i arrived mid afternoon after a bumpy (underestimation ) ride taking around an hour once you leave the Western Highway at the quaintly named village of Teakettle (make sure your fillings are secure ) to be greeted by manager Dave and his wife Cat and... Pooks Hill has a beautiful setting in a clearing in the jungle. The staff are incredibly friendly, informative and helpful. They work very hard and nothing is too much trouble. I would definitely recommend taking their trips to Tikal and the ATM Cave in particular and if you have more time the other trips they offer as their guides are... More

Pook's Hill was fantastic! There are 11 cabins on 300 acres, and ours was called the birdwatching cabin. We were at the very end, in a lovely cabin with a thatched roof, built on stilts, with a panoramic view of the jungle. Pook's Hill is located 5 miles down a dirt road off the main highway, off the grid. Power... More

For me, this was the highlight of a tour in Belize and Guatemala. The Lodge is certainly more rustic rather than 5* hotel, but what it lacks in luxury, it more than makes up for in location, friendliness and attention to detail. Once you've navigated the 7 mile bumpy road in, you are into a different world surrounded by dense... More

It's a bit of a trip to get to the location from Belmopan or San Ignacio (the dirt road takes a little while but your in Belize most of the roads are dirt). It's very close to the atm cave. The staff was great especially Kat and Dave. They were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are better then the... More

What a wonderful, welcoming place! Amazing setting, easy access to the famous ATM Cave. Had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back! Food was great and all the staff were fabulous! Just walking the property was great, missed the howler monkeys though..... More

Having used Trip Advisor loads I’ve only just got around to reviewing the places I have visited, so this one is over a year old. (We actually visited in July 2010). Pooks Hill Jungle Lodge will always hold a very special place in my memory, despite only a few day visit as part of our Belize Tour last year. We... More

A great experience in nature. Great food, fantastic guides and lots to do. Guided nature walks daily along with tubing, and their own personal Mayan ruins. Bungalows are in nature, so don't be surprised by a few bugs. More

My wife and I recently spent a few days in Belize. We started off on the islands then went inland to Pooks Hill. What a great experience. The staff was fantastic, the food was amazing, and the grounds of Pooks were unbelievable. The onsite tour guides led us to a relaxing tubing down the Roaring River which ended at a... More

Enjoyable trip, great accommodations, food and activities. Ray (the owner) was very hospitable and we learned a lot about the country from him. The guides were top notch and took care of everything detail for us. Francisco, our assigned guide, took my wife and I cave tubing, zip-lining and to the ruins at Tikal as well as transported us to... More
