My boyfriend and I stayed at Black Rock Lodge for 2 nights and LOVED it! We rented a car while in Belize (highly recommended) and found the road to the lodge a little bumpy but well worth it! We stayed in one of the River View Cabins, which was beautiful. The lodge was a great place to play cribbage and... more

I feel like the luckiest person on earth to have stayed here. You can participate in so many activities or just relax. The staff is warm and gracious, professional, helpful, and educated about the surroundings... and the rooms are outstanding. Dinner with the other guests couldn't have been more fun, as you learn about what others have chosen to do.... more

We stayed here on our honeymoon in Belize and Guatemala. Black Rock was our first stop on a trip booked via Wildland Adventures, who did a wonderful job. Black Rock is secluded, beautiful and welcoming. We had our own little cabin and woke to the sounds of the forest. We used Black Rock as a jumping off point for several... more

What a beautiful setting, gracious staff, lots to do, immaculate and comfortable accomodations. We loved Black Rock, our one regret was that we only stayed two nights, and could easily have stayed for five and found lots to do. Dinner hour means everyone sits together under a huge palapa and discusses the day's adventures. The food is very good and... more

My husband and I traveled to Belize for our honeymoon, and our first stop was Black Rock Lodge. We absolutely loved it - its off the beaten path location was exactly what we were looking for. The location is gorgeous and cannot be beaten. The dining area had a spectacular view of the river and surrounding hills (and iguanas). The... more

We spent three days at Black Rock Lodge over New Years and had a wonderful time. The food is excellent and the family type suppers gives you lots of time to meet fellow travellors. The cabanas are very nice - clean, comfortable, good bathrooms, attractive. There are lots of activities and the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. They have... more

Our family stayed at Black Rock River Lodge for 4 nights in late Dec 2007. The whole family had a wonderful time. kids are 19, 17 and 13, and the 17 year old boy was teary eyed as we left!! Staff was wonderful. Sort of felt like family. One guy, Rojellio, or R2D2 is his nickname, was just a joy... more

We spent 4 days at blackrock lodge and were thrilled by the setting, the rooms, the central house, the quality of guides and overall the hospitality. we are travellers, having ssen many parts of the world, from the backpackers perspective. and black rock is led managed by former travellers knowing what is important. the lodge is almost self sufficient with... more

I visited Black Rock Lodge with my parents and two brothers (ages 11 and 4). Drawing up into Black Rock Lodge it felt like paradise. The setting is just breathtaking, surrounded by the tranquil rainforest. All the staff were super friendly - we immediately went horse riding, which was incredible fun. We did many tours, our best guide was Eddie... more

My friend and I stayed in Black Rock Lodge for 3 days but we did so much! It was really nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of San Ignacio and be at peace in the jungle. Everyone there was super nice and I loved the communal style dinners where you were able to meet people and talk... more
