Our 3-night stay was very enjoyable although far from perfect. We liked that the resort was small and friendly, yet the five cabins were spaced far enough apart that you were not tripping over your fellow-guests, nor could we even see another building from the extra-large window in our room. That being said, noise travelled relatively easily from our neighbours'... More

The service was excellent and the cabins were very nice. The humidity of the jungle took some getting used to and you can't escape it in the rooms since the windows are simply screens. The food at the restaurant was very good. A rental car is a must to see the local attractions and take advantage of the proximity to... More

Thank you for the good review Dan. We are very happy you had a great time exploring western Belize. We designed the rooms with open screens, ceiling and standing fans to counter the humidity of being in the jungle. Unfortunately, we cannot control mother nature's decisions when it comes to each day's temperature. Thank you for sharing your concern. We'll... More

My husband and I stayed at Amber Sunset on our first visit to Belize. Located between San Ignacio and Belmopan, it was the perfect home base for our mainland adventures during the first half of our trip. We loved that they incorporated elements of each Belizean ethnic group into their tree houses and into their meals. The food was absolutely... More

Great lodge, but keep in mind built in the hills of the jungle so there are tons of stairs. No a/c, but it's not needed; there is a fan in room. They have a great outdoor tub with the individual huts, but they are impossible to full with warm water, as hot water only last for 3-5 minutes at a... More

Thank you for the good review. We are very happy you had a good time staying with us and exploring the attractions in the Cayo District. You are right, being up in the hills is challenging to get around. Without the stairs, it would be even harder. During construction, we carefully built the stairs longer and wider so it is... More

My family and I stayed at Amber Sunset for 5 nights in December. We were so happy that we chose this resort for our short time in Cayo. This family-run resort skillfully caters to the individual needs of all its guests, whether its arranging tours, transport, restaurant recommendations, umbrellas for unexpected rain, or whipping up amazing cocktails by the pool.... My family of ten stayed at the Amber Sunset resort shortly before Christmas. Our hosts were excellent and always available to cater to our needs. They were very friendly and were quite welcome socializing with our group. Meals were outstanding and reflected the local history and culture in a very pleasing manner. The rooms fit the location and surrounding natural... More

Thank you for the great review Anita. We are very happy to hear you and your sisters all enjoyed the stay. This is a highly unusual review for me to leave, as people leave positive or negative reviews with their feedback based on their stays. I read through many reviews on Tripadvisor for this region while booking my lodging for May 2016. Whereas, I am not booked to stay at Amber Sunset Jungle Resort, (it was a very very very close... My family stayed at the Amber Sunset in December; really loved the family owned atmosphere. The small pool and bar are quaint and we were welcomed with a fabulous cocktail. Thank you for a great stay.

Loved staying here. The staff was very accommodating. The food was wonderful! The accommodations were very comfortable. My only slight complaint is that there is no AC, so it can be slightly humid at times in the room. I would gladly stay here again

Thank you for the good review! It is very rare that we get such humidity up in the hills. Due to the style of the treehouses, having air conditioning would be challenging. Thank you for sharing your concerns. We hope to see you again very soon! More
