It really is a shocker of a hotel. Like many other reviewers, I went on the recommendation of that respected guide book most of us backpackers use. They tried to charge me $120 per night for a disgusting, dirty room with no amenities whatsoever. This is 5 times the price that was quoted in the guide book. more

The only other review of this guest house mentions how unsafe they felt. I did not have the same experience. There is a lock to the front gate, and to every room (obviously). We had decided to stay at the Seaside Guesthouse because it was recommended in a respected travel guide. When we arrived, we were mortified - both in terms of comfort level of the rooms, and in regard to our own personal safety. Please take our advice: avoid this place by all means necessary. more
