Had a great stay at the Seaside Hotel, which is a querky, old building full of character overlooking the sea. Its in a great location in a nice and safe neighbourhood, with everything only a short walk away. The owners Diane and Mitch are very helpful, Mitch likes to welcome you and if you fancy a couple of beers, he... more

I still don't feel clean since leaving. I only stayed here as my flight had been cancelled and i dint want to stay a more expensive hotel. Room was horrible and overpriced, owner was hungover stinking of booze and was keen to tell me of his financial woes. Neighbourhood is dangerous don;t expect to get food after 6pm there's none... more

I remember this guest. As I recall he came from a $130 a night room to the Guesthouse for a $30 or $35 a night room. The Seaside Guesthouse is not for travelers that are looking for 4 or 5 star accomodations This old colonial house on the sea that was built in the early 1900s might not be the...

It really is a shocker of a hotel. Like many other reviewers, I went on the recommendation of that respected guide book most of us backpackers use. They tried to charge me $120 per night for a disgusting, dirty room with no amenities whatsoever. This is 5 times the price that was quoted in the guide book. more

I just found this site and I am glad it is here. It allows me to stay current. I take this review to heart and have have made some changes in prices and also the appearence. This room that was renting at 60 U.S. dollars for 2 people has been reduced to 45 U.S. for two people. We are taking...

I stayed at the Seaside Guest House for one night in December 2008 on my way, like most Belize travellers, to the cayes. Overall I found the guesthouse to be overpriced and in poor condition, but perfectly safe. Belize City possesses little touristic interest and some potential safety issues, particularly at night. Even the small street that the Seaside is... more

The only other review of this guest house mentions how unsafe they felt. I did not have the same experience. There is a lock to the front gate, and to every room (obviously). However, Belize City is an unpleasant city at best, and therefore any place you stay won't feel terribly impressive. If you can avoid staying in Belize City,... more

We had decided to stay at the Seaside Guesthouse because it was recommended in a respected travel guide. When we arrived, we were mortified - both in terms of comfort level of the rooms, and in regard to our own personal safety. Please take our advice: avoid this place by all means necessary. more
