You only need to know one thing about this hotel, it is extremely dirty. We had cockroaches living in the bathroom, where they had burrowed a hole in the wall. I told the front desk about this problem, and they never resolved it during the last two days of our stay. We stayed with a group, and the remainder of... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The front rooms have gorgeous views of the Carribean and the location is great for catching a tour. Its in an upscale part of the city so its feels very safe. The hotel itself has seen much better days but it was clean and again, you can't beat the views. It needs... More

We stayed one night before an early flight the next day, it's ok, would not stay longer that than. The air con was poor and didn't work, however we had a really large room. Bathroom reasonably sized but the decor and furnishing quality really let the hotel down. With a bit of TLC it would be a fantastic place as... More

At the last minute we had to have a place to stay and we booked the Chateau Caribbean. I had read some of the more negative reviews and have to say I have nothing but positive comments. First, the staff are excellent. They go out of their way to please and help. When a bigger room was available, I was... More

It was not cheap -- maybe $100 or so per night. But, the location in Fort George was good and it was an easy walk to the shopping area and the swing bridge. Hotel direly needs renovation. Hallways, stairs, carpeting, restaurant are all a bit shabby and old looking. The room itself was nice -- and generally the rooms look... More

Hotel Chateau Caribbean was my last stop before the long flight back to Europe after three weeks in Yucatan and Belize. It proved to be a very fitting ending to the holiday. The hotel is a lovely, sparkling white colonial villa on the seafront (if you can call it such). Downtown Belize City is five minutes' walk away, but if... More

As per previous reviews: Yes, the hotel needs some TLC, yes the carpets have seen better days and very little new paint for some time. And yet.... what a lovely old building! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent (they serve HUGE portions - could easily order one starter and one main course between... More

We stayed at Château Caribbean last week for two nights, and it worked out just fine for us. As mentioned by many, it's a bit worn out - you can see what it once was, and what it could be if a good bit of $ was invested. (First task: get RID of the icky old carpet everywhere! Are there... More

The hotel is old and the rooms are musty, something that comes with age and humidity. However, no need for dust bunnies along the baseboards! Food was good, staff was friendly, location close to water taxi. The dank old smell was just too much for me (:

The hotel, as has been said could do with a little TLC/ maintenance but has a great ambiance.  A large old colonial house with lovely verandahs and balconies looking out over the water.  The staff were friendly and helpful and check in and out was efficient.  The room was huge and although the water pressure struggled to get to our...
