We love this grand old house, it's spacious and well appointed rooms, the verandas. There is a restaurant downstairs and it is within walking distance of the tourist village, some coffee shops and other attractions. We will be back!

My husband and I stayed her the first night of our honeymoon and I'm so glad we did! We ended up in a room on the third floor. The view was great, there was a nice breeze (we were able to sleep with the windows open) and it was nice and quiet. The hotel is within walking distance to bars... More

So pleased we stayed here before our trip to Turneffe. The hotel is right across the street from the Raddison Hotel where you catch the boat. The Great House Inn had everything we needed, a nice large clean room, beautiful veranda with a porch swing. The staff was very helpful. There is a wonderful bakery on one side of the... More

We stayed at the great house in April 2015, We chose this place as it appeared to have character, and was smaller than the Radisson, which at first was our first choice, but We decided on something a little smaller...actually this place is right across the road from the Radisson. After reading Mikeald review, just before we arrived, we were... More

The historical aspect of the hotel is interesting. The rooms are attractive and certainly will remind you of days gone by. The rooms are well furnished, maintained and tidy and the sleep was mighty fine indeed. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Overall, the only concern we had was the price – it is overpriced by far.

The Great House was a lovely old, historic home, but the location and Belize City itself left something to be desired. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was large, spacious, and clean. The little pastry shop next door was SO WORTH a stop.

This was a great place to stay for a night before getting on the sun dancer live aboard dive boat. The staff were super friendly and gave me great tips on how to eat local and also how to stay safe in what is a deceptively dangerous city. I loved Belize but not Belize City. This is right across the... More

1927 Grand Hotel with large rooms and very nice staff. However, people think that the immediate area around the hotel is safe...it is not! In the late afternoon we were robbed at gunpoint by four guys...truly a horrible experience only a few blocks from the hotel...spent the night in the Police station and saw much more violence as they drove... It's a great colonial structure in a nice location of Belize City, to me one of the ugliest cities I have ever visited. Never before in my life a city could not give me any pleasure of the unknown. I was traveling with my 73yo mother and all the steps were a hassle. This place is not for older travelers... More
