What a great find - small and charming guest house run by natural history film makers Carol and Richard Foster. Felt privileged to stay there and to hear their stories (and to watch a couple of their acclaimed films in the well-stocked communal lounge/kitchen area). Stayed there with family after day out zip lining and cave tubing fairly close by.... More

I can't say enough positive things about the Savannah Guest House. The Fosters are spectacular hosts. There is something very unique about their location and venue; you can feel you body relax while you're there. It's the antithesis of the frenetic "Resort feel" you sometimes get at other tourist destinations. Very peaceful and relaxed. Their knowledge and advice about the... More

My gf and I spent one night at the Savanna Guest House in early May. The Fosters live in the adjacent house and manage the place with love. We were welcomed by Richard and his wife and had amazing conversations with them about their involvement in the documentary film industry. We arrived in the afternoon and had booked the zoo... More

We spent one night at Savanna Guest House, a lush oasis surrounded by beautiful pine savannas. The room was very spacious, clean, comfortable, and beautifully-furnished. My girlfriend felt like she was in a movie. We were surprised at how affordable the place was given the quality of the room. We wish we would have had more time to talk with... More

We were a group of 3 couples from Ontario , Canada, and stayed at the foster's guesthouse previous to flying home. What a delight and lovely experience this was. The guesthouse is situated in the trees, and birds could be heard all around us. The rooms were comfortable and welcoming, with screened in porches all around, where you could lie... More

We stayed here for one night! It was lovely! The room was extremely clean and nicely furnished! We stayed with our two boys and enjoyed ourselves. Richard showed us the film sets and fed the crocodile. The breakfast in the morning was lovely. The downstairs room we had access to, was perfect for playing games with the kids! Wonderful experience... More

We stayed for one night before heading south to Placencia. The Fosters are gracious hosts with fascinating backgrounds. The room was pleasant, not luxurious but very comfortable. No AC, but it was breezy. Our room had a screened in porch that could accommodate sleeping. We sat and listened to the sounds of the evening. In the morning Richard provided a... More

We spent 2 nights at the Foster's guesthouse in order to have time to visit the zoo. The guesthouse is away from the road and surrounded by savanna , which means it is quiet and peaceful. The room was nice and the breakfast in the morning lovely. There is a big kitchen for use , lots of places to sit... More

We spent our last night in the country at the Foster's, though Carol was out of the country at the time. It was a perfect retreat, full of fascinating stories, a wonderful breakfast and a calm environment. We also did the night tour at the zoo, which was fascinating. And Richard took us to the zoo and back, since we... More

Richard was lovely. This is a special place that we are so happy to have been able to experience. Richard booked our zoo tour for us, drove us to dinner(he also joined us and we heard great stories of his fascinating life), drove us to the zoo and then took us to the airport the next day all for much...
