Our family of 3 divers (parents + 15yo girl) is 1 week out from a week in heaven @ Blackbird Caye Resort . Everything was perfect - Belize is beautiful and the diving was great, really great - huge barrel sponge, huge fan coral, big fish, big schools of fish & plenty of tiny things too. But really what put... More

Traveled solo...Mr. Moreno was there to greet me at hotel and take me to marina to catch boat to Blackbird Caye Resort. Enjoyed a nice cold Belikin beer on the boat ride in. Once there, Mike & Captain Jack greeted us on the dock and walked us into the bar and gave us a thorough run down of our accommodations... More

Our family recently returned from a one-week stay at Blackbird Caye Resort. My kids are 13 and 11, and like me, were Scuba certified shortly before we arrived. My husband is a very experienced diver (Australia, Honduras...he's been diving some of the best places in the world). All of us had an incredible experience diving at Blackbird. For the inexperienced:... More

My husband and I returned just yesterday from an amazing one week stay at Blackbird Caye Resort. I rarely write reviews, and never have for TripAdvisor, but man I just had to this time. This place is indescribably beautiful and the staff is nothing less than phenomenal. From the moment we arrived in Belize City, we were greeted by Mr.... More

Overall, this was a standout memory for my wife and I, on our first trip to Belize. It was also our first stay at an "eco resort," which I am all for. A few of the imperfections: 1) Our hot water heater breaker tripped twice during the trip, so as we went to get showers, they ended up being cold.... More

We had a wonderful 4 day stay at the Blackbird Caye Resort. The resort staff is absolutely wonderful. Our cabana was huge inside and very clean. We had three meals and snack time provided. The means are delicious and they give you plenty of food. The bar staff make some of the best drinks I have ever had, Leti and... More

We ended our 15 day trip through Belize with a 4 night stay at Blackbird Caye Resort. Definitely the best way to end a great vacation. Our cabana was spacious for our family of 3 and the daily housekeeping was exceptional. The meals ranged from very good to outstanding with self-serve breakfast/lunch and sit down dinners. My husband and I... More

We just returned from Blackbird Caye Resort and Turneffe Atoll. Had a fabulous time!! Staying on the island is incredibly relaxing and we loved the solitude of our own private cabana. The diving was also just fantastic and we loved every minute of it!! The staff, Michael, Cardinal, Leo, James, Max, Jose, all the kitchen workers and cleaning workers were... More

WOW! Blackbird sets the bar high for my future expectations. We had never been snorkeling before. My husband and I spent weeks looking at sites and reading reviews before we chose Blackbird. We have been spoiled on our first snorkeling vacation. Tremendous variety of fish and coral. The accommodations were exactly what we needed! Screened porch, great hammock, and good... More

My first trip to Blackbird Caye was 15 years ago. The reefs remain in pristine shape. Most dives are 2-3 minutes from the resort (minimal rockin' and rollin' in the boat). Great dive staff. The food was the best it has ever been this trip. Quick and easy to get to from Atlanta or Houston. Love being able to take... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Blackbird Caye Resort located on Turneffe Atoll, 25 miles off the coast of Belize City, is not only home to the second largest barrier reef in the world but is home to 3 of the 4 atolls in the entire Western Hemisphere. Turneffe is the only Caribbean Atoll made up of dozens of mangrove islands, which make a perfect environment for a variety of juvenile nurseries for coral reefs, many schools of fish, dolphins, turtles and manatees. The resort itself is nestled within 1,300 acres of island forest and palm trees on a 2-mile long private, sand beach. There are 18 individual private beachfront cabanas with modern accommodations that face warm trade winds with views of the lagoon’s turquoise waters and the atoll’s rim reef. Not only is Blackbird known for world class diving but it also serves as a sanctuary for over 25 species of birds. Renowned for its biodiversity above and below the water Blackbird offers something for everyone: world-class scuba diving , snorkeling, kayaking, beachcombing, and nature walks to observe colorful land birds and seabirds. ... more   less
