We've heard some stories about this place and finally we've been. In one word - amazing. The island is far away from the coast (3 hour boat ride) and has everything a tropical island has to offer. Palm trees, clear blue seas with thousands of cool fishes - including rays, sharks and dolphins -, cabins above the water, sunsets and... More

I travelled to the Island in April 2015 for one week. I was travelling with my partner, who has been to Glovers before, therefore I had a great idea what to expect. We are outdoor people, so we chose to go to Glovers knowing full well that we may have to camp on the beach. We booked an over the... More

I was skeptical before going to Glover's Atoll Resort. Really. I wanted to go because it seems a very good deal (299 USD per person a week including transportation for a bungalow over the water) but I was scared by some of the reviews: would I be strong enough to live like a Robinson for 1 week? Guess what? I... More

Yes, there are composting toilets and the showers smell like egg. Yes there is a bit of rubbish in the middle of the island. Yes you might get slightly wet if it rains. Which it will. BUT this really is paradise, and the view from the shower makes up for the smell. On our first day a dolphin sailed past... More

There are so many better places to go to in Belize than this caye. You can still pay budget prices and stay in rustic accommodations but get great customer service in Belize. The staff on this island acted as though guests were a huge inconvenience to them - they were never chatty and avoided hanging around guests. Despite making plans... More

This is NOT a luxury resort - but you dont pay resort prices either! We stayed for a week in late March 2015 living in one of the "over the water" cabanas. It was amazing! But you have to be prepared for camping. If you are okay with that, I'd say go for sure. I caught bonefish flyfishing right off... More

You read a lot of varied reviews about this place but it is an absolute gem. In all the places we've been, there has been nothing out there like this. We stayed in a cabin over the water, for a week & it was amazing. We want to go back again but for two weeks next time. Some of the... More

I loved the rustic feel of this place. Everyone was so nice. Alison was the best dive instructor I could have asked for with open-water certification. She helped me overcome my fears and feel relaxed and able to enjoy the scuba experience!! I would definitely go back for future certifications with her.

This place is great. but you have to know what you are getting into. this is not a fancy resort, it is a campsite and some of the lodging has wood walls. if you are expecting something any fancier than that you should pay 10 times the price and go to one of the other islands. we stayed in cabin... Amazing location - we saw the best stuff - tons of fish, coral (that was getting healthy), sting/eagle rays and nurse sharks at the reefs we snorkeled to right off shore. The excursions were at depths more for divers (starting at 40-50 feet) but we did see a turtle and the reef wall dropping into the deeper ocean was cool.... More
