We found the Ocean Pearl to be a wonderful place to spend a month and a half in paradise. The owner/manager and her family were friendly and helpful. The other guests were from all over the world and we enjoyed interacting with them. We rented one of the cabanas which are just perfect for two people, but we also had... more

I was staying at the Oceal Pearl for the last 5 nights of a trip through the whole of Belize. After reading some of the earlier reviews, I wasn't sure, what to expect. But I was pleasantly surprised¨! First, you should remember, that this hotel is on Caye Caulker, a beautiful spot, that is really relaxed and that is not... more

We went there as a family to spend Christmas 2008 in Caye Caulker. Me, my wife and my 2 year old son stayed in the Cabana (no A/c) and my in-laws (FIL and MIL) stayed in one of the hotel rooms (with A/c). They didn't have to use the A/C since it was fairly cool at night (they got a... more

We stayed at Ocean Pearl as part of a tour between Guatemala, Belize and Mexico. Ocean pearl was the 2nd choice of the tour guide as the first option was booked out. Given the choice I would have turned around and gone elsewhere. Our first room had dirty pillows and was barely big enough to swing a cat. The slow... more

I booked into Ocean Pearl Royale as it had been recommended to me by a friend. I am glad I took their advice. The room was clean and tidy. The owners were there to help me when needed, but were not in my face all the time. I wanted a relaxing trip (without hard sell all the time), and that... more

We stayed in one of the wooden cabins, with verandah&two bedrooms. The children loved their room with two single beds, each bed had a mosquito net canopy over it-which though wasnt necessary certainly added to that exotic feel.(my daughter felt she was in a princess bed).A fan in both bedrooms provided adequate cool air for the night. The master bedroom also with a... more

Have just returned from a fab trip to Caye Caulker in Belize. We stayed at the Ocean Pearle Hotel as recommended by our friends who stayed there a few months ago. This was a lovely little place run by the very friendly and helpful Ray and Mariah. Our room was nice and comfortable and cleaned thoroughly each day for us... more

Agree with previous review - the "main" part of hotel was filthy...and I DO NOT expect (despise) the Cancun or Playa del Carmen set. Even the toilet bins were not emptied, window had no screens. By the sounds of it, I think the private cabins are decent, but the "main hotel" forlorn and forgotten. more

We recently stayed at the OPR hotel as part of a trip through Guatemala and Belize. The only reason our group stayed there was because they had overbooked the regular hotel and it honestly looked like they had opened up OPR just for us. It has the feeling of a run-down, former hotel. It has great potential but the two... more

Firstly, those who go to Caye Caulker cannot expect it to be Cancun (thank goodness). It's a low key, nice place to relax, meet cool people, dive, and just chill. That being said- you have to also expect hotels, motels, hostels, and guest houses to also have a laid backness, though there are obviously places to meet anyone's comfort needs.... more
