De Real Macaw was a very nice place and we'd stay there again. But stay away from Seahawk Tours, which seems to be associated with the hotel. It seems to be run by two guy named Steve. We took a tour to Lamanai with the younger Steve. It was very badly organized. We got to spend very little time at... more

This place looks great and very laid back. I had a really good time staying here. The best part is that everying is so close. The owners were ok. I stayed in the cabana (upstairs). I loved the cabana and my private porch with hammock. The bed is cool. You get some view of the sea, but the cabana is... more

I am really disappointed with staying at Da Real Macaw because I never got a refund back because we checked out due to the unsafe conditions of local drunks gathering at all hours of night at the vendor stalls constructed in front of our room at the hotel which blocked the ocean view. At first Da Real Macaw seemed like... more

De Real Macaw has a great location, cute courtyard and friendly staff. They have one budget room in the back, that we paid $25 a night for. The room is TINY...it appears to have formerly been a utility shed that was converted into an extra room. There is a double bunk bed which has a few feet worth of room... more

The owners of De Real Macaw are very friendly and helpful and the courtyard is a great place to relax at a picnic table or hammock. It is very close to the Split which is a nice place to swim and sun. We really enjoyed our stay. more

We stayed there 6 days in August. We had a room in the backbuilding which was ok. Clean sheets and towles every day. Beds are not the best. What we missed was comy sunbeds. The one thay had were not very good after 20 min. We had hammocks thou. We will probabely choose the Cabanas near the harbour next time.... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in the beachfront rooms. it is a nice place, though nothing special. We checked the other accomodations in Caye Caulker before but all of them seemed to be full so we ended up here. We paid 70 dollars a night and i think it is a little overpriced for what they offer.Especially when you compare... more

I stayed at this hotel march 2007 for 3 nights in one of the beach front rooms (70$ us/night). the hotel is a little pricier than the others in Caye Caulker but definitely worth the extra. The location can't be beat - right on front street in the middle of all the action on the island with a beautiful view... more

We had a great experience with this guest house. It is a little pricey, given the competition, but to our minds was a great value. It isn't a Hilton but was just right for our needs. Jessie, Jeff, Selya(sp?), and Ella were all very helpful and outgoing. For us, we spent quite a long time there - 10 days -... more

Firstly, most of what is said in the other reviews is correct: De Real Macaw is a nice place to stay. But note how most reviewers are actually enthralled with Caye Caulker more than anything else. Frankly, one could sleep on the street in a corner of this town and retain a smile, and ALL the people on the island... more
