For a quiet and relaxing experience there is no place like the Barefoot Beach, where the hammock at the end of the pier beckons and Susan offers the best advice for island food, island fun and adventure.

We stayed in the Oceana Cottage from Jan 10 - 17, 2015. We loved our vacation. From the moment we arrived, Heidi greeted us with her special smile and warmth, we knew we had made the right decision to rent here. Our cottage was exactly as pictured and described. It was very clean when we arrived and daily service including... More

We wish there was a GOOD rating...better than average but not VERY good either, in our opinion. We stayed for a week in the most expensive units...the efficiency unit, Barefoot Bungalow. The good: welcoming, helpful staff. The unit provided spacious, clean accommodations with pretty much everything we needed. The King size bed was nice for us as a couple and... More

It's very unfortunate that we get blamed for the few negatives of being on a tropical island. The wind stopped blowing for a few days and I clearly explained to this reviewer that the sand flies are not blown to the back of the island if the wind stops blowing. I provide FREE baby oil to stop the biting for... More

Don't get me wrong, many will find this place ideal, just not us. Our biggest issue: we're in our 60's, and town was just a bit too much work to get to. We really couldn't make it into town for dinner every night. Much less breakfast and lunch. The bikes helped, we did make it to town every day, but... More

We spent 5 days in Caye Caulker and were happy to stay at Barefoot. Located 3 minutes bike ride away from the "buzzing" street of caye caulker, we enjoyed our big room with ocean view, the free bicycles, the constant breeze, the hammocks and pontoon all for us most of the times. definitely recommendable

We stayed at Barefoot Beach December 15th to 20th and had an excellent stay. We were in the hotel room, the room was spacious it had a nice comfortable bed and a single bed just beside it that we didn't need. There is a closet and some shelves, a table and chairs and a TV. The washroom was nice a... More

My friend and I stayed here over Christmas. As other guests have mentioned in their posts, this isn't a luxurious spot to stay so don't expect all of the frills. However, it is clean, guests are given a bicycle upon check in to ride around the island on, and the dock with sun chairs and hammocks is a great place... More

I stayed in one of the side view rooms for three nights over Christmas. Waiting in the room were some chocolates and a "happy holidays" note which I thought was a nice touch. Since the office was going to be closed Christmas Day, they were sure to leave extra trash bags and made sure I had everything I'd need. The... More

I stayed in one of the new mini huts in early December. For $40 in the low season, it was a steal! The Good: The room is a decent size, with queen bed that is fairly comfortable, a small closet area (no door, but shelves and rod/hangers for clothes), night stands with bottled drinking water, front porch with chairs, air... This was a surprise. We purchase bulk unwrapped hotel toilet paper from a local tp distributor. (New) I know that at times it is crookedly cut or loose or crimped. But I have never heard of or seen blood. I have to think this was something industrial from the tp plant. I am sorry for the mis-impression. Would have appreciated... More

Caye caulker is very laid back. There are not large modern hotels on the island. There are smaller family run hotels and hostels. If you are looking for Luxury caye caulker is not for you. It is very low key. We stayed in one of the back cabins for four days over Christmas. We had AC, kitchen, livingroom and a... More
