Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a Tucan Tour trip of Central America. Don't be put off by the bad reviews! Fair enough there are definitely much nicer fancier hotels on the island and if I had been choosing the hotel myself I'm sure it wouldn't have been this one. However that said, I had no issue with... Having read some of the very negative reviews on Trip Advisor, we were somewhat apprehensive about our visit, which had been arranged by the tour company (Intrepid). We had asked them why they were using a hotel with such poor reviews but they assured us that refurbishment was taking place and all would be well for our visit. The hotel... More

The hotel it self is ok,the location is fine 6and quite clean... But the service is so bad!The staff is so bad,so not welcoming that it.s just awful.. They promise you a discounf if you stay longer than 3 nights-then you get a discount of 3 dollars... They have a "kitchen" that contains 0 forks! And bugs! Please don't go there!

When we first arrived to check in (as part of a group), I thought it was a bit of an odd hotel. A pretty loud bar attached to the main reception area, and some interesting types wandering through! But the rooms themselves are pretty good. Small, but clean and with good AC. The bathroom was a good size, but there... More

We tramped all over Caye Caulker looking for a reasonably priced hotel. Not an easy task in 30degrees but then we found China Town. Its not on the beach but thats no biggie as it is only a short walk. The rooms are a little small but they have aircon, a nice bathroom and comfy beds. Best of all they... More

China Town was OK as hotels go. The shower was hot and the air con was decent! Our room was very cramped though and the bathroom door wouldn't shut properly which wasn't ideal. It was quite a noisy hotel due to the bar and the echoey corridors. We had free brekkie included but it was pretty rubbish so I wouldn't... More

We were 4 persons, stayed there for a few nights (they give you a great discount if you undertake staying for 3 nights or more). The rooms (only the ones with the A/C) are fine, and the price is reasonable, but the receptionists are extremely not nice and non-cooperative, and let you feel like you are not welcome, and will... The only real reason we stayed here was that they had a kitchen. The problem with that was that you had only one plate, two forks and a knife. Most of the pans were not usable and the stove was broken. After asking the staff four times for plates ( they have a restaurant so they should have them) they... More

Room way to expensive for what it worth. Said that they had wifi, they have… it just never work ! Say that we can use our credit card without charge but then they tax you. no service, not nice. I just beleive you can have much better somewhere else.

It's been a year since I visited this place - but it came up in conversation with a friend and all the memories of how truly wretched the place was has compelled me to write a review. Do not stay here unless you like dead rats in your pool, being treated like pond scum and sweating away your livelihood because... More
