My two adult kids and I went to Belize to enjoy some great diving. We were not disappointed and our stay at the Mayan Princess was excellent. The location couldn't be better for diving and dining options. We stayed on the third floor in a corner room--we'll ask for it again when we return. more

Stayed here for the second time, same room and absolutely loved it! The location is perfect. Stay on the top floor for the view... although there are no elevators, so if stairs are a problem, you should stay on the bottom floor. Rooms nice in that they have a living area, kitchen, balcony overlooking the water and very close to restaurants, dive shops etc. Beds not comfortable, blinds don't keep out the intense morning sunshine if you like to sleep in. Not to be confused with a luxury hotel, the Mayan Princess is perfect if you're looking for a centrally-located hotel with easy access to the dive shops. While it is 'beachfront' - the beach at this area consists of pier after pier of dive shop & other sea-based companies. So if you're looking for a quiet beachfront resort look elsewhere... more

Just returned from Belize. We did the surf & turf thing. Much preferred the jungle to the island. As islands go, we were not impressed. Plan to spend more for less here, compared to Hawaii, Mexico, & Thailand. People are all very nice, however. This place was so so. We stayed at the Mayan Princess after checking out of an "economy" hotel. The Mayan Princess was a big improvement! The amenities were nice, and everything functioned properly. The rooms had a pleasant tropical ambience. Great location, although San Pedro is so small its hard *not* to feel like you're close to everything.
