We arrived at Cpt. Morgan's on Tuesday after being in Placencia for a few days. They put us in Casita #23 upon arrival on June 30. The air conditioner didn't work and there weren't enough towels or wash cloths. Of course the air conditioner not working properly was unacceptable so I asked the front desk people 3 different times about... more

After I booked my trip to stay at this hotel, I decided to read the reviews on it! Yes, I know completely backwards. I read horrible things about the hotel and was extremely worried. I am particular about where I stay but since we already paid for the hotel I had to deal with it whether it was good or... more

I called the resort before I scheduled our trip and they said the beach was dredged and ready for swimming. "It is so beautiful" said the resort lady. The first thing we noticed is their beach was not dredged and molding, rotting seaweed was all over the place. Nothing like being lied too. When we arrived they tried to place... more

the staff are all very friendly--i am not sure how much more tahiti would offer in the way of scenic beauty, but that would be hard to imagine; the food at the reastaurant was just average and for an area that is abundant with fish, the seafood selections were non existant. the water is not swimmable for all of the... more

Captain Morgans is kind of an enigma.... This place could be so much better than it is but is not as bad as some have made it out to be. Most people only focus on the bad from the trip and forget about the good. You have to remember you are in a third world country and not staying in... more

Captain Morgan's was a true mixed bag. Overall, I recommend it, but have the proper expectations. The Good - The employees couldn't be nicer. Seriously. We had our 3 year old son with us and they really went out of their way to make things easy. Also, Dr. Como, he's the best, and he makes a mean rum punch... from... more

We both fell in love with Belize & Capt. Morgans. The staff was awsome, food was great. I want to come back so bad hoping to soon. I would love to move to Belize. The people are so nice always have a smile for you. We did do the tour but already own a time share, no pressure in face... more

It's a shame that a beautiful setting can be spoiled by such a bad restaurant and not so good facilities. First of all we are world travellers, we are not picky for noting, we can addapt to everithing but not not rips off. The restaurant in Captain Morgan was awful. The breakfast took an hour and more everyday to come... more

While the setting was beautiful, this place does not have it's act together any more. The rooms seemed dark and smelled musty. We have been there several times, and this last time we will go. it was awful. We left early due to the poor restaurant service and construction. It would have been hard to make the restaurant worse -... more

To some extent I would agree with all of the comments I've read regarding this resort. I'll start with the good. This place is beautiul. The rooms are large and well decorated. The staff is extremely helpful! Probably the best I've ever seen. Shabba makes a mean drink and is an amazing cook. I highly recommend one of his meals... more
