My husband and I have stayed in various spots in Belize over the years but always on the mainland. This was our first trip to Ambergris Caye. We are always looking for places to stay that are small but have quality amenities, facilities and service. We found that with Cocotal. We stayed for one week in the beachfront cabana. It... More

Only 5 cabanas on the premises with beautifully kept grounds. There are kayaks to take out and a buoy to tie up to about a mile off. Great snorkeling! No restaurant on premises, but an easy walk to several including Akbol for breakfast and White Sands next door. Ernesto, the concierge, was so nice and accommodating. He booked all of... More

As with any big trip, where to stay is a huge first question. After months of research and many reviews read on Trip Advisor, we booked Cocotal and started the countdown. Booking was easy and Ernesto and the management team always replied quickly to any inquiry. I knew I wanted one of the stand alone garden cabanas and they helped... More

We stayed at Cocotal for the first half of our honeymoon, from Jan 10 – 14. My experience with Cocotal started out extremely positive. The manager, Ernesto, promptly answered quite a few emails with various questions and requests (such as having a bottle of champagne waiting in our room upon our arrival). Management even set up a snorkeling trip to... More

We just returned from 6 nights at the Cocotal Resort. I pick our lodgings carefully (based largely on TA reviews) and we weren't disappointed by Cocotal - it was as great as other reviewers have described. The staff is very friendly, and helped us with official stuff (great tour recommendations, making airline reservations) and unofficial stuff too (like giving us... More

This is a lovely place to stay. Right on the beach, very quiet and relaxing, a private dock with hammocks and free kayaks and bikes for guests to use. You can kayak out to the reef and snorkel, which we enjoyed more than our paid tour to the marine reserve. Ernesto and Raul are very friendly and helpful with anything... More

My husband and I stayed at Cocotal Inn for 7 nights around the New Year's holiday. Our cabana was comfortable, roomy, spotlessly clean, very well appointed, and beautifully designed. I absolutely love the tropical hard wood ceiling and hand made furniture. Even though our cabana was not waterfront, it didn't matter. We simply walked a few dozen yards and there... More

My husband and I stayed 7 nights at the beachfront casita. It has everything we needed. We fished, kayaked, snorkeled everyday. We booked our 3 fishing trips and a snorkeling trip all thru the manager. Beware that the pick up might not be on time, one of our fishing guides was 1.5hr late, our snorkeling guide was 1hr late. The... More

After months of research, we decided to spend our week at Cocotal Inn & Cabanas. BEST decision ever. Ernesto was absolutely wonderful; he arranged to have our golf cart there for the week (best investment EVER) and scheduled our shore excursions (which picked us up at the end of our dock). Mara is the best watch dog, she greeted us... More

Yeah, this place was so beautiful that I thought I had died and gone to heaven. So serene and clean and peaceful. What can I say. I stayed at one of the little cabanas and it was heavenly. They have these cabanas that are little houses. Well made with cedar rafter ceilings and updated plumbing, kitchen appliances. Nice comfy, clean... More
