I am just back from a two day, two night work retreat at Barnsley. I have to say I was truly impressed and can't wait to return as a recreational guest. The staff was amazing - from Tim giving us a great tour upon arrival to Carl and Bob with Spring Bank and Jason and Stephanie from food and beverage... More

My sister and I arranged for our family to spend a week at the Barnsley for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. What an over-the-top experience! The property feels like a fairytale. The property mimics a 1850s town with little cottages encircling a grassy open space. You can play lawn games and roast marshmallows for smores. The cottages are modern and... More

Spent two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Restaurants well very nice, as we're the staff and gardens. Try the frisbee golf...great way to get some exercise if you'd like an alternative to golfing. A bit pricey for what you get in the way of services but given the weekly half-price rooms (Usually midweek) I'd definitely recommend a visit to... More

The old ruins are nice and historically interesting. However, unless you like golf or sleeping, the rest of the property is boring. The cottage rooms are also in need of some updating as they look like they were designed in the last 90's with a lot of brass fixtures. We called the front desk for two extra champagne glasses as... Having lived in the USA for 15 years after growing up in the UK, this was a nostalgic walk down memory lane. Superb customer service standards and very comfortable accommodations. Great golf course and walking trails for the dogs who were made very welcome too.

I cannot say enough about how unbelievably awesome this place is for a getaway. I can't even list all the amenities - golf, spa, farm to table food, hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, clay shooting, pool, shopping, beer garden, concerts, s'mores, surprises from the Fairy Godmother, gardens, ruins, museum, contemplative spots throughout, bocce ball, horseshoes, hammocks, claw foot tubs, large... What a great find. My relatives have been telling us about this place for years. Having our dogs with us we had to stay in a certain area. Nearby was a dog run as well as several trials from easy to "strenuous" trails. Daily I took them on a hike. We did 5 miles one day and the next 4... More

I would never have found this place on my own or even considered staying here. Some friends suggested that we meet here for a couple of nights since we were all coming from Atlanta. The staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. The cottage was large and had a lot of amenities. I was very relieved to find that the air... More

The resort is beautiful, the staff is very friendly, and the food is very good. We loved staying in the 1 bedroom cottage. There are many things for kids to do, and we had a great time. Also we loved walking around the property, the ruins and gardens are beautiful.

Wonderful resort about 1 1/2 north of Atlanta, well worth making the trip for. The welcome was warm, service impeccable and the accommodation perfect. The cottage was well furnished and there was lots of room to relax. The cottages/houses and grounds are pretty and all in keeping with the original estate and The Ruins. The web site doesn't do the... More
