The Gibson Inn is full of charm and character, with great service and really nice rooms. The bar downstairs has an excellent selection of wine, beer and spirits, and fantastic service. We will be going back in July for 2 nights during our honeymoon to stay in the private suite. They do have rooms that are pet friendly, but not... more

I still like to believe that you get what you pay for. Not at the Gibson. Advertised as an old Historic Inn, completely restored, you'll find that it is indeed old and historic, but not what you would expect for the money. I adore old and historic, but what highly dissappointed in the fact that they had not bothered to... more

We went to Gibson Inn for our honeymoon and loved it. While the room was older, we found it clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed having breakfast in the restaurant, and the pub menu at the bar was wonderful. We're young, 22, and did feel a bit out of place as they do seem to attract a slightly older crowd... more

To be frank, I had some trepidation about staying at the Gibson Inn after reading some of the reviews on this site. We stayed at the Inn some time ago but understood it had since been renovated, so we decided to take a leap of faith and give it another try. We were not disappointed and had a wonderful experience.... more

Occasionally, I have the opportunity to combine business and pleasure. My business travels take me the length of Florida. I look forward for an opportunity to visit the Apalachicola area, (Port St. Joe, to Carrabelle) because of the combination of comfort, hospitality and great food found at the Gibson Inn. A stay at the Gibson Inn is a great comfort.... more

What a terrible disappointment. Having come from Dolphin island and driving through the panhandle of FL we were so looking forward to a wonderful experience. But what we found was a terrific waste of money. We are not the Bed & Breakfast types, but this did not even offer Breakfast. And for the huge bill we should have had room... more

We stayed at the Gibson Inn July 31, 2008, for one night. Because we were only going to be in Apalachicola overnight, we wanted to stay someplace quaint and near the downtown area shops and restaurants. While the Gibson Inn fit the bill on both counts, the room was very disappointing, the bathroom was filthy, I wore shoes in the... more

loved it. beautiful room. what a town! friendliest peoplle i ever met. wish i lived there. Started at the bar for a wonderful happy hour, continued our night with dinner at a local's favorite "Papa Joe's" and then on to the Spoonbill (the bar on the 2nd floor of the Apalachicola River Inn) definitely would recommend. had a great time! more

We stayed this past weekend. The manager was rude and treated us like we had wandered in off of the street. Not like people who stay there a couple of times a year - which we do. I don't recall her name but she had bleached blonde curly hair. She was very unhelpful and talked down to us on more... more

My wife and I made a second trip to Apalachicola and the Gibson Inn recently. Just like our first trip a couple of years ago, this one was equally terrific. The 2nd floor king suite with direct access to the porch is now our favorite room. As usual the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. PJ was very helpful... more
