My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our rather spontaneous one night stay at the Consulate Suites. We contacted Virginia by phone from the road, booked the Attache Suite and arrived late that evening to find it was beautifully appointed room - more like a luxury apartment - with a garden terrace attached. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, amenities quality and... more

We were delighted to happen upon the "Consulate" by chance during a tour of Apalachicola. It's a gem of a place, located adjacent to the waterfront in a historic two-story building. There are several suites to choose from. We spent three nights in the "Attache" which over looks the rear garden from a second story deck. The suite is well-furnished,... more

The Consulate Suites was a great place for a quiet family mini vacation. As new grandparents we enjoyed visiting with our son and daughter-in-law and watching our grandson toddle around on the beautiful wood floors. Sailboat watching was calming from the spacious river front balcony. The Consul Suite, where we stayed, is a 1300 square foot apartment with two bedrooms... more

Spent 2 nights in the Port Captain suite at The Consulate in Apalachicola for my 65th birthday. Tastefully decorated, comfortable quarters were immaculate, thoughtfully furnished. Nice view of the river & shrimp boating activity, easy walking distance to outstanding restaurants. We're native Floridians & found the seafood to be the absolute best ever including The Owl and Tamara's Floridita for... more

Had a great time on our anniversary. This was just what we needed. The seafood is great. There is not much to do outside of resting and a little shopping if you are not fishing. For fishing I can see this place would be fantastic. As for the Consulate suites they were very nice and very comfortable. more

Loved Apalachicola (we ate the BEST seafood every meal - right off the boats!) and the Consulate Suites are in a wonderful location, right on the waterfront and surrounded by great restaurant and shops - all within walking distance. You're staying "in town" so if you're looking for quiet solitude, you should go to the beach or country. The rooms... more

Touring the coast we arrived at the end of a long day. We were delighted to find such a comfortable, well located, very attractive apartment. It really worked out well. Dinner around the corner at Tamara's (with mother/father in-law and with our 5/7 yr old boys). more

My family (2 adults, 2 teenagers) spent several nights at the Consulate Suites in April '04. We stayed in the suite called The Consul. These units are situated on the beautiful Apalachicola River, over a retail shop. Our suite was very spacious, pretty much a two bedroom, two bath apartment. The kitchen was very clean (as was the rest of... more
