The Witherspoon was a great place for my Wife and I to get away for some alone time. The owner Sandy was very friendly and offered a wealth of information on the shops and especially the restaurants. We had the entire Inn to ourselves due to the continuing economic impact of the BP oil spill on the surrounding area. Sandy... More

We found this looking through the Internet. Was slightly cheaper than other B&Bs but thought we would give it a try. On arrival we met the owner Sandy who couldn't have been more friendly. She offered us drinks and home made cake and made us feel most welcome. We booked one of the rooms upstairs which were light and airy... More

Just spent a wonderful night at Witherspoon Inn. Down for vacation at St George Island and was not able to get on the island because of Tropical Storm Debby storm damage. So glad to have found this little gem. Very nice and tidy. Enjoyed all the owner's deceased husband 's art. The owner, Sandy, was a delight! Our 11 year... More

The inn was quiet and peaceful. Price was good. Only thing that might have been nice would have been a tv. But overall pleasurable. Clean, good size rooms.

This was the first time we have ever even considered an inn style place over a hotel. I was very skeptical on staying in a bed and breakfast because I didnt want to feel like we were in the way or even being there would make us feel uncomfortable. Thankfully, this was non of the above. The inn holds 4... More

We stayed 2 nights and loved the relaxing atmosphere. The baked goods are a nice addition and there were some interesting (if dated) magazines to read, Sandy is very candid about what is happening to establishments like hers. Sad that places like this are disappearing. Short walk to downtown, museums, historical sites. Owner also gave us good recommendations on where... More

Stay away. Our bed was terrible. Our room was dusty and was not cleaned. I do not know how this owner has a business license to run this place. I stayed here and tried to move after I saw our room, but there was a 2 night minimum for the weekend. I booked this because of the low price compared... More

We recently spent a long weekend in Apalachicola and had the pleasure of staying at the Witherspoon. Sandy is knowledgeable and thoughtful, and I can't imagine enjoying a trip more. The upstairs balcony was fantastic.

We just spent our spring break at the Whitherspoon Inn and we had a great time! It makes you feel at home! The place is incredibly clean and cozy and the fresh baked bread for breakfast is divine. The rooms are very spacious and some even have an extra area with a couch. You also have access to a balcony... More
