Just spent a couple of nights at Mountain Chalet, and I must say we were incredibly impressed. The hotel is obviously not a newly decorated 5* hotel, but it is a really quaint family run establishment... the furnishings and decor might be old, but everything is clean and comfortable. And even though we were in a beyond basic room, it... More

Booked this place at random. Built by hand by the man and family that still owns it. Gym, sauna, steam room, pool. Great breakfast. Quiet. Excellent lobby and library. Close to everything. I love the fact that the owners - now in their late 80's still eat breakfast here every day - and raised their children right in the hotel.

The Mountain Chalet Aspen sits in a great neighborhood; with the nearest hotels being the St. Regis, the Grand Hyatt and the Little Nell. But don't be fooled; it isn't like its neighbors at all. It is very old, and tired. They do serve an excellent breakfast that comes with the room, and the prices (for Aspen) aren't bad. But... More

we enjoyed our stay tremendously. Aspen is very expensive, but at Mountain Chalet the rooms are affordable, nice, they serve great breakfasts with different options each day, and have 24 hour tea-and-coffee including snacks in the afternoons (cookies, muffins or pastries). Plus all the amenities needed: wifi, pool, jacuzzi, gym. And an unbeatable location, a couple of blocks from Aspen... More

First I will say that you get what you pay for. You can't expect this place to be the St. Regis or Ritz for the price you're paying. It's not necessarily a bad thing here though. The daily breakfast and lobby refreshments, cookies, etc. were real bonuses. Those items, along with the location make staying here really worth it for... More

I put a lot of research into accommodation in Aspen and couldn't have been happier with Mountain Chalet Aspen. Location was great - easy walk to Aspen Gondola and opposite the main bus terminal for the other mountains. At night we were close to restaurants, bars, clubs. Because it was just my husband and I we wanted somewhere with good... More

We have been staying at The Mountain Chalet since 2006, usually in low season (early december). The bunk room is adequate, but the main reason we keep returning is the ambience of the Inn. Guests mix and mingle in the lobby. The Hosts & Staff are always friendly & obliging.

Staff: Other than the desk and breakfast staff, the rest were rarely seen but were efficient. The daily room service was noticeably good. At breakfast they made sure the breakfast bar (the best in town) was kept stocked and clean. We had a minor room problem which was taken care of right away. The lobby always had coffee, hot cider,... Aspen-Snowmass remains my favorite mountain destination after decades of skiing around the Rockies. Mountain Chalet (MCA)adds tremendously to the charm, convienence and affordability of every visit. I used to bring the family out for 2 one week trips yearly and stay at high end condos/homes or the Little Nell. Prices for those beds went north of $ 1500 a night.That... More

It was my first time staying at this hotel and I just loved it! Great breakfast and the hotel lends itself to folks meeting each other around the Cookies and Tea bar. Convenient location - just 100 yds. to the Gondola! Doug
