Dog friendly older hotel room (we didn't bring ours!) was small but convenient to amenities and downtown Aspen. Full complimentary HOT breakfast entree plus buffet deserves a 5-star rating as well as entire kitchen staff! On the first night of our two night stay, my partner was bitten by a flea in our room on his forearm that drew blood.... More

We had our wedding here in the mountain view conference room and deck and it was amazing. Right next to the mountain, peaceful cozy location. My family and friends all stayed here and loved it too. We all had fun swimming and visiting in the common pool and lounge areas. The food was fantastic and the service and staff were... More

I visit Aspen every October for the John Denver Celebration and I, along with many others, spend the week at the sold out Mountain Chalet, built to resemble a Swiss mountain lodge. The owners and staff have always been extremely accommodating to us. The morning breakfast is great and the cookies they provide throughout the day, along with tea, coffee,... More

We stayed here for two nights right after labor day. Yes, the building and most furnishings are dated, but it is also very clean and we had everything we could have wanted - a nice bed, updated bathroom & shower, wifi, close walking distance to restaurants, shopping, gondola, buses, very filling breakfast included and very friendly staff. We found the... More

We stayed at the Mountain Chalet for 4 nights in mid August right at the start of the off-season so we were able to get a reduced rate. We stayed in a Standard room with a Queen bed and requested a balcony. I made the reservation over the phone to make this request and to take advantage of the discount... More

I have been visiting Aspen in the summer for over 30 years. You have to love a place that reflects the way Aspen used to be before it grew into what it is today. The Mountain Chalet is not about glitz and a facelift. It is about comfort and great service. We chose one of the best rooms at the... More

My wife and I stayed at the Mountain Chalet in Aspen for six nights the first week of August. The Mountain Chalet is a charming older hotel originating in the 1950's. The view of the surrounding mountains of Aspen were absolutely gorgeous. We arrived near midnight the first day and easily found our temporary room key left at the closed... More

Great things to say about the service. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. They recognized many in our group and had details about our stay top of mind. That was impressive. Location is excellent. We stayed in the summer, and the Gondola stops just outside. I would imagine this a great place to be if you were a skier. The building itself... More

This place is clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast is really great. That being said, they really need to update this place. The bed was terrible (think roll to the middle) and the furnishings in the room were 1950's. We were in a "standard" room and it was basically in the basement. The parking is a real plus since... Older, well maintained, clean. Made to order continental breakfast with very good wait staff. Parking is a premium in Aspen therefore an added bonus for this hotel is their free covered parking. Walking distance to shopping, gondolas, buses. Overall very satisfied with our stay!
