My wife and I traveled to Aspen for the 2012 Winter X-Games. The transfer from the airport (via CME) was fast and flawless. The Mountain House is about 6 blocks from the main area in downtown Aspen. Since the weather was ok, the walk was fine and manageable. I was surprised that there was not a closer bus stop, but... More

The Mountain House Lodge in Aspen is a warm, friendly and shockingly affordable spot, on a quiet street right in the Aspen Core. The location is excellent, walking distance to everything. It has some of the friendliest staff of any hotel I've ever been in, they really make you feel welcome. As if all that isn't enough, there is free parking, free... More

I had the pleasure of spending a very restful & relaxing night at the Mountain House this Fall after riding my bike from Twin Lakes over Independence Pass. It was the perfect spot to recover & revive myself before heading back over the pass the next day. I enjoyed the hot tub which soothed my tired body after the ride... More

Please do stay here! Wonderful friendly hosts, free wifi and breakfast which was delicious! Room huge and clean with a lovely view of mountains we were in 522. Parking is free too which is a bonus in Aspen in winter. We couldn't fault the place and would definitely stay here again as it's good value yet still walking distance to... More

Have just returned from leading a party of landscape photographers on a workshop to Colorado. This was the perfect place to spend our last few nights. Everybody loved the rooms they had, the best complimentary breakfast of the whole trip, and the location in a quiet road but within easy walking distance of the centre was ideal. The staff are... Each time we stay at the Mountain House Lodge, our experience is wonderful. The rooms are clean and roomy (the ones on the south side are more updated). The continental breakfast is delicious and plentiful - fruit, waffles, hard-boiled eggs, bagels and muffins, yogurt, cereal and juice. The staff is very helpful! We have been going to Aspen for many... More

The MHL is a great value right in the heart of Aspen. The complimentary breakfast is a great way to start the day before hitting the slopes and the "apres ski" happy hour was a fun way to unwind afterwards and catch up with friends. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Walking distance to restaurants, etc. More

This lodge is a good value in Aspen where everything is expensive. The room was realtively small but the balcony more than made up for that. The room had a minifridge and you could use the microwave in the breakfast area. The location is very quiet and yet a short walk to the main downtown area. I could see where... More
