Once we set foot into the Residence Hotel we knew there was something special about this hotel. First, the art and antiques displayed around the hotel are simply fantastic and provide something unique for every room in the hotel. Second, the location could not be any better. You have easy access to all the shopping and restaurants in town and... More

We thought the place was exactly what "Aspen" should be. It was warm, quaint and friendly. My wife loved all the art and antiquities spread throughout the hotel. The room was large and included a walk-in closet with a beautifully updated bathroom. The staff was absolutely great and always made sure our every need was well tended.

This is very much one of the last "Aspen" hotels. Even the beautiful Jerome has converted their antique Victorian look into a more modern one. But we remain as antique and gorgeous as ever and hope to see you again in the future. Terry More

The Residence Hotel surpassed any expectations I may have had before going to Aspen for Thanksgiving, and my expectations were high. The hotel is filled with exotic art and decor and the atmosphere is warm, hospitable, social and like you are in a friendly private club. The staff foster this feeling and stand ready throughout your stay to make any... More

What a wonderful review. And I agree that in a visit to Aspen, expectations are always going to be high, and we at The Residence are always going to rise to meet them. This 'original' hotel is still here and we hope to see you again soon! Terry More

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! When I visited here with my parents, they were just as shocked as I was to see an enormous amount of elegant art in our room. From paintings, to lamps and tables, they have it all to make you feel as if you're living the Aspen lifestyle. We were told by the owner that she... More

Aspen Sojourner described The Residence Hotel as the best kept secret in Aspen, I have to agree. Except this is a secret the world needs to know about, because something this special needs to be shared with everyone you love. We had a great time staying at The Residence Hotel, it is perfectly located in downtown Aspen, absolutely perfect for... More

For a small hotel, the Residence is simply the best place I have ever stayed. Right in the center of town, you are steps away from world class dining and Aspen's walking mall. Rooms are spacious and luxurious with super high ceilings and treasures everywhere. The Residence makes any other hotel look stark. I have already recommended it to my... More

Other hotels are stark in comparison, especially with the constant modernization happening around us while our yearly renovations never take away from the original antique feel of the hotel. Thank you for your review and come for another stay soon! Terry More

We stayed in the Residence Hotel during last year's ski season. Plunk in the middle of town, one is convenient to everything, the skiing, the dining and the town's entertaining nightlife. The Residence Hotel's owner-manager is the very best guide that one could have on what to do and how to go about doing it. I can't think of a... More

This is a cheerful place where you feel good as soon as you have been welcomed and walked into your suite. You just feel like you are in your own chalet. I like that our guests feel that the rooms or suites they stay in are their own. And with their constant renovation and the addition of new art and antiques, they really are different for each person who stays in them. Much better than the uniformity of some of the larger hotels. Terry More

The hotel is located in a turn-of the-century building in the heart of Aspen. Each room/suite is deocorated with antiques & fine art and staff was beyond helpful. We've stayed in a number of other 5* properties in Aspen, but none provided the warmth, location and charm that Terry Butler's Hotel does. A must stay and one of a kind.

One of the nice things about having a smaller hotel with a smaller staff is that you do get to know the hotel more intimately, and the staff gets to know you on a personal level. I think that provides for a much better experience. Terry More
