This is an older motel. Rooms are clean but no fridge, micro, or coffee in room. Bed was comfy and the A/C was OK. Breakfast is very minimal - coffee, cereal, juice, banana bread, and not open until 7:00. There is plenty of ice. Best thing is that it is close to the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad depot.

This seemed like the best place to book at the time , as we rode train up from Chama and had no car to get over to other motels .This is right next to train Also this is about 1/2 price of other motels in town. It wasnt a horible experience, but the motel was very run down in need... More

The hotel was filthy and run down, trim coming off the walls, stained carpet, dirty bathroom, uncomfortable beds. We didn't expect much but this was so dirty my teenage boys put their shoes back on to walk from the bed to the shower. It was only after we got home that we were charged an extra $50 for supposedly smoking... More

We picked the hotel because it is near the Cumbers and Toltec Train ride. We were able to walk over to the train depot in the morning. The room was what we expected based on other reviews and pictures. Yes, it is an older hotel that was been kept in good repair. The room we had was clean, tidy, and... More

I booked two nights at Narrow Gauge on Labor Day weekend and had a reservation confirmation. When I arrived, the manager told me that they were over booked and did not have a room for us. They were overbooked by six rooms. She said she knew about the overbooking for several days. Although she had my contact information, she never... More

After a day were many things had gone south. The management without being asked provided just what we needed running water and a clean space to stay. I hope that this couple that is managing the property is able to run a corner and bring the Motel back to a better place. We will be going back

My husband and I chose this motel because we stayed here on our honeymoon 17 years ago. We came back to ride the train again, and were disappointed in how run down it was. It is a VERY basic motel room, with a VERY basic breakfast. There were serious unknown stains on the carpet and sheets. We were glad we... More

I had misgivings when I pulled in. I came for the scenic railroad ride and didn't want to get "railroaded" by a hotel. The best way to see if a place is fine for us is to let my wife look at a room. She was happy and the alternative was twice the price in the center of town or... More

This property is a disaster. Stayed 2 nights. Would never return nor recommend to anyone. Very much past due for major renovations. Being in a depressed area, as Antonito is, I doubt the owners will invest in updating needed renovations. Breakfast ? Another disaster. All carbohydrates, no protein and the only thing hot was bad coffee. Many defects in accommodations... More

We camped 2 nights in our travel trailer. They have a few RV sites behind the hotel. I can tell a big change for the positive since the new owners took over. The first site we pulled into had functioning water, electric and sewer, and the sites were not overgrown with weeds unlike our first experience 3 years ago. $18... More
