My partner, Matt, and I randomly found Sunshine Mountain Lodge back in August of 2007. We wanted something outdoorsy, relaxing, and homey for a tranquil weekend getaway. We found exactly that at Sunshine Mountain Lodge. A year later (in July of 2008), we decided to have our wedding reception there because we had enjoyed our first experience so much. The... more

We've just returned from a five day stay at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge near Allenspark, CO. We hope to return to these rustic cabins which are clean and dog friendly. Television and phone service is nonexistent in the cabins which only makes this destination a better escape. For those interested in hiking, the location of this lodge is perfect as... more

I just returned from an amazing weekend at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge. We were there for my niece's wedding. She actually had the wedding reception at the lodge. I have to say, it was the best wedding reception I have ever attended! There was so much to do.... dining outside at the tables set up on the gounds, relaxing in... more

I recently spent 12 days at Sunshine Mountain Lodge, doing some writing, hiking and relaxing. the lodge is under new ownership, and Cathy and Cory Osban could not be more accomodating or delightful! The overall ambience of the resort is charming and promotes a relaxed atmosphere. I was made to feel welcome and to feel that it truly was "my... more

I would not recommend Sunshine Mountain Inn unless the new owners really take control of the place, and bring the standards up. My daughter and I had the misfortune to have booked two nights with the original owner, Marge, who also required one night's payment in advance. She did not mention to me when taking the reservation, that she was... more

I just got married at Sunshine Mountain Inn in Allenspark, Colorado on July 15th, 2006. We rented the place the night before and the night of the wedding. It was so wonderful to have a place for all of my husband's family from out of town to stay. And family from Denver and all of our friends stayed as well.... more

We had a great time here! everything was clean and the hospitality great:). And to quote my son Breakfast was the BEST! We will for sure stay here again. The cabins may be rustic but this was just what we nedded, no Tv's but you can use the tv with a video player, which is what we did most nights... more

I have stayed several times at Sunshine Mountain Inn and have loved it. My friends and I have done group retreats there and have found it to be clean, inviting, peaceful, fun and the food is healthy, well presented and extremely tasty. The cabins are so wonderful we never want to leave. It is one of our favorite places to... more

Sunshine Mountain Inn in Allenspark, Colorado was awesome! The cabins, altho old and rustic, had been updated and were sparkling clean. We stayed there in Feb. 2006 and even with old man winter outside we were toasty warm inside our cabin. I LOVED hearing the pines in the cold, gusty wind outside. Our cabins kitchen was clean, fully equipped and... more

The Sunshine Mountain Inn in Allenspark Colorado is the WORST place I have ever stayed. It's anything but a "Bed and Breakfast & Wellness Center". For who, hobos? No joke, this place was filthy, unkept, falling apart and uncomfortable. The sheets were soiled from the guests before, the bedspread had hair and dirt on it, the carpet was so filthy... more

Management response from
Marge Hoglin, owner/manager

I was deeply saddened to read the above reviewer's extremely negative comments. I have owned and operated Sunshine Mountain Inn for 12 years and take pride in the high standards of cleanliness and personal service we provide. We receive scores of unsolicited thank-yous and positive visitor "reviews" every year; most of our guests, in fact, are return visitors or word-of-mouth...
