I don't always like KOA's to camp in, as sometimes they seem way too tight. But I definitely liked this KOA. Check in went smooth, they took us directly to our site. Hook ups worked good. It is close to the Highway, but we were in the back of the park, so really couldn't hear any traffic noise. Restrooms were... More

My wife and I stayed in a cabin at this nice, clean KOA. We arrived early in the day and were greeted by friendly hosts who showed us to our site. Alamosa is close by and has all the services you may require. The restrooms were very close compared to other KOA's we've stayed and the cabin was very clean... More

The Alamosa KOA is about 20 minutes from the Great Sand Dunes, and only about 5 minutes from Alamosa with restaurants, brew pubs, and supermarkets if you need anything. Tip: there's a Starbucks inside the Alamosa Safeway. Most of the sites are pull through, and pretty close together like many RV parks. Plan on making some new friends. We did.... More

We were visiting the area and happened to pass by the Alamosa KOA. We arrived in the late evening and the desk staff was more than happy to accommodate us. Because it had rained earlier in the day, we decided to stay in the Kabin as opposed to tenting it. Typical KOA Kabin with a basic space heater for warmth,... More

We settled on the Alamosa KOA after doing a lot of research on campgrounds in the area. We were looking for something off the road with trees, and we thought this was the best option in the area. After actually seeing the alternatives, we KNOW that this is the best campground in the area. The Alamosa KOA is located only... More

This is a very clean, well-maintained KOA. It's all gravel, no grass, but there are some trees on some sites. The bathrooms are good and there's a laundry with 4 washers & dryers. They have a small pizza kitchen onsite where you can get a pizza for $10 with a choice of up to 10 toppings. We got one and... More

Camped here in trailer for two nights to visit Great Sand Dunes. Very basic not up to KOA standards. Scant gravel. Heavy sew smell made us look at satellite view and found we are next door to sewer treatment plant. Would not recommend.

We only stayed 2 nights. If you decide to take the train ride, it's all day, so a 3rd night would be in order. We were here for Great Sand Dunes, but we also visited Zapata Falls, San Luis Lake State Park, & the wildlife refuge. We easily did that in 1 day. The campground is nice & the bathrooms... More

We stayed one night on our way to the GC. We had booked ahead, so check in was a snap, except for the smell of the home made pizza. It was so good, I had to order it!!! A few minutes later 2 piping hot, delicious pizzas arrived at our camp site. Fantastic and well priced. Topped it off with... More

Our car broke down hauling our camper and we were towed into Alamosa. On the way I googled campgrounds and called KOA. Told them our circumstances. When the wrecker pulled our camper into the KOA they were waiting for us, had a lot for us positioned so that the wrecker could easily maneuver in and out of the campgrounds. The... More
