This is a very clean, well-maintained KOA. It's all gravel, no grass, but there are some trees on some sites. The bathrooms are good and there's a laundry with 4 washers & dryers. They have a small pizza kitchen onsite where you can get a pizza for $10 with a choice of up to 10 toppings. We got one and... More

Camped here in trailer for two nights to visit Great Sand Dunes. Very basic not up to KOA standards. Scant gravel. Heavy sew smell made us look at satellite view and found we are next door to sewer treatment plant. Would not recommend.

We only stayed 2 nights. If you decide to take the train ride, it's all day, so a 3rd night would be in order. We were here for Great Sand Dunes, but we also visited Zapata Falls, San Luis Lake State Park, & the wildlife refuge. We easily did that in 1 day. The campground is nice & the bathrooms... More

We stayed one night on our way to the GC. We had booked ahead, so check in was a snap, except for the smell of the home made pizza. It was so good, I had to order it!!! A few minutes later 2 piping hot, delicious pizzas arrived at our camp site. Fantastic and well priced. Topped it off with... More

Our car broke down hauling our camper and we were towed into Alamosa. On the way I googled campgrounds and called KOA. Told them our circumstances. When the wrecker pulled our camper into the KOA they were waiting for us, had a lot for us positioned so that the wrecker could easily maneuver in and out of the campgrounds. The... More

Awesome pancake breakfasts in the morning....propriators have "ma & pa" freindliness. they helped us out with a sleeping bag and blanket for one of our youth. Their pizza is awesome! Price is excellent. We used this KOA as a base to go to Great Sand Dune National Park and into NM for a Pow Wow. I hope to bring my... More

If you are in a popup be sure to ask for a spot with trees. The staff was super accommodating and real nice. The bathrooms and pool were nice and clean. Big open sites for big rigs too. The store has basic necessities, they will even make you pizza if you need a night off from cooking. Close to town... More

We spend the 4th of July weekend in Alamosa, the campground its small dry, the swimming pool was a joke so small, the bathrooms are small only 3 showers!!, the cabin super small and dirty, inside and porch, the grill outside the cabin all full of bird poop on top, we usually cook in the campground to keep our cost... We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed the campground; I rarely give 5 stars for a campground but this one is the nicest in the area. There are a few shady spots - just ask for one! The tent sites looked nice as well with lots of space and privacy. The RV sites are close but we had... More

This campground is located on a couple of miles east of Alamosa. It made it very easy to get to places for us. Some campgrounds I've stayed in have grassy areas next to the campers or a cement pad to put the camper on. There is not much grass and many of the trees in between the campers are not... More
